The Crown is honestly the place to be. Whether it be a weekday or a weekend. I was here on a Tuesday night and the place was popping with music just loud enough that you didn’t have to yell during your conversation but to keep the atmosphere going.
Getting seated took literally no time as Campbell the host showed us to our seats and let us know that our waitress Krysten would be with us shortly. I love how laid back the vibes were even at such a classy establishment. Even though they were on top of the service, I didn’t feel rushed.
Krysten served our first round of drinks which was the “Hot n Proud” which had just the right amount of kick with a passionfruit flare. If you like things on the spicier side, I’m sure you would be able to ask for some extra spice.
As said earlier, we didn’t feel rushed when we finished our first round of drinks. Krysten casually came over and asked if we wanted another round where we ordered the “Jade Rabbit”. This was essentially a Lychee Martini. As someone who doesn’t normally like/tolerate the taste of vodka, I have to give it up to the bar staff for perfectly balancing this drink. It was mouth wateringly tasteful of the lychee while still having a kick of the alcohol.
Finally we had the “Hugo Spritz” which was the best way to end off the night. It was light, florally, refreshing, but not too sweet. Which can normally be the case with St. Germaine drinks. This is definitely a great summer night drink.
Definitely would be coming back to try more of the drinks and some food too. Special shout out goes out to the wait staff team of Ben, Depok, and Antonio for consistently keep our table free of glassware beside our drink...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming establishment nestled in the heart of Chinatown, and I must say that the views it offers are simply breathtaking. From the moment you step inside, you are treated to a mesmerizing panorama that showcases the vibrant beauty of the surrounding area.
The venue itself is exquisitely designed, with attention to detail that perfectly complements the atmosphere of Chinatown. The decor blends seamlessly with the cultural heritage of the locale, immersing visitors in a delightful fusion of tradition and modernity.
When it comes to the drinks, I must admit that they leave something to be desired. While the selection is not as extensive or innovative as one might hope, the quality of the ingredients is undeniable. The cocktails are well-crafted, and the bartenders display skill and knowledge in their craft, ensuring a pleasant drinking experience.
However, the true allure of this place lies in its ambiance and the awe-inspiring vistas it offers. It's an ideal spot to unwind, socialize, and appreciate the mesmerizing sights that Chinatown has to offer. Whether you're catching up with friends or enjoying a moment of solitude, the panoramic views make for an unforgettable backdrop.
If you're looking for a place to savor delightful drinks in Chinatown, you may find the selection somewhat limited. Nevertheless, the overall experience of this venue is worth it. The views alone make it a must-visit spot, and you can easily complement your visit with a beverage of your choice to enjoy the best of...
Read moreService was egregious from beginning to end.
When I arrived the staff told me I did not have a reservation, they could not find it. (I had proof of the reservation). I eventually was seated after an embarrassing and unnecessary hassle. When I was seated, the manager who was the only positive part of my experience spoke with us about booking the outdoor space for a friends marriage proposal. He was very gracious and helpful HOWEVER.... 20+ mins had gone by with nobody else from staff taking our drink order or even acknowledging our existence. We had to ask to be helped.
The whole time we were there the staff was extremely inattentive, if we needed anything we had to get up and ask. They all seemed confused, inexperienced and disengaged.
To the new management I would ask, do you want to be the typical rooftop that overcharges for mediocre drinks and people pay the price simply because the want to take picture of your view? If so, your already succeeding. If you want to be the type of place that people actually go to for a good experience I suggest you revise that basic/novice food menu and drastically improve your service. The manager mentioned a $75 per guest minimum was coming which can easily be commanded for the view they offer but if the food is trash and I’m only there too drink I probably don’t need 4 drinks to meet that minimum. I should want to eat your food if your forcing me to buy it. Because I can go anywhere in NYC for exceptional food as opposed to pay top dollar for what is reminiscent of store bought...
