THE ELK on Mott — Restaurant in New York

Pretty frustrated - I just walked thirty minutes out of my way to pick up a Too Good to Go bag that I ordered last night and the worker said there were none left. She tried to suggest that since two people had already picked up bags, the app might not have updated with availability - I’m guessing under the assumption that I had just ordered the bag within the last hour or so. If that were the case it would be frustrating but understandable. However, I ordered a bag early this morning so I’m not sure what someone else’s pickup / an app delay would have to do with anything. The worker was very apologetic which I appreciated but I think management needs to do a better job of estimating leftovers when listing available TGTG bags and also giving their employees more guidance on how TGTG works and what to do if something like this happens. I also had to ask her if I should just request a refund on the app, and what next steps I should take to get my money back. It does not make sense for customers to have to explain to workers how a program that the business decided to opt into works, and the business should be better prepared if they’re going to opt into a...

I don't know how y'all feel about tipping at a coffee shop, but I get so conflicted. Especially since I just order a cold brew. I could easily go back there and pour that myself. What's that Dwight Schrute quote? At my local coffee shop, I always tip but those are my people and they show love, you know?

Anyways, I walked into the PACKED Elk on a Saturday, ordered my $6 cold brew and they flipped the little Ipad around and showed 20%, 25%, and 30% tip options. Like yo what, I'm already paying $6 for this cold brew. I didn't tip this time, because that just felt out of pocket.

I got my cold brew and sat outside as they have ample outdoor seating. It's kinda sceney here, I felt like I was in LA. A lot of beautiful people, most of them came for the breakfast burrito that everyone raves about. I need to get back and try it but I was on a full belly as I had just DOMED a Black Seed Bagels BEC.

The Elk has the Absolute BEST coffee in the city! The Cloud has my ♥️ and a HUGE shout out to Jeffrey! He is always so so very kind and helpful and he makes the BEST Cloud! The coffee plus the connection with Jeffrey has been priceless! The area is super nice with ample seating outside and if ya go around the block the Elizabeth street park is free and open to the public! BEAUTIFUL! You cannot enter next to Elk, entrance is around the block! If you’re visiting for a local do NOT pass up THE ELK! GREAT cold pressed fresh juice as well!!
