Honestly I can say I did not have a blast here. Upon entry, the place is very tiny and as soon as you walk in the music is sooo loud. We got seated by the dj first but it was literally ringing our ears and we had to move to the end and it was still too loud. You can’t talk to your friends or server without leaning into them trying to say something and you still can’t hear. Had to ask my server “huh” about 5 times before I understood what she was saying. Hookah is $45 through cash app and $40 with cash. However the hookah barely lasted and he had to fix ours because it was not pulling strong enough.
On to the appetizers for a group of 4. Two of us orders wings in different flavors, calamari and nachos. The garlic Parmesan wings was the only thing out the appetizers that was good. The honey jack wings wasn’t good and were more tough then the garlic Parmesan. I felt like I was eating rubber. The nachos wasn’t very good and the baby shrimp tasted frozen. I didn’t order a drink but my friends did. The pina colada was too sweet. The margarita drink barely had patron in it and it tasted like straight margarita mix. The henny colada wasn’t very good either.
On to the entrees, I had a shrimp monfongo which was tasteless, no type of flavor and the shrimp was frozen shrimp. My friend ordered the salmon and it tasted like it was pan seared with no seasoning. Just like fresh salmon. There was burnt skin on the salmon. The other entree rice, veggies and the steak was very tough.
The vibe was okay, we made the best of it. Dj was playing good songs, however, ain’t know space for us to dance if he playing dancing music. We barely had conversations within each other because it was just soo loud. The server did take two of the entrees off the bill because we didn’t eat them and the margarita was sent back. We kept having to flag down the waiter in order to get her attention instead of her coming to check on us. I feel like since 18% of gratuity is included on all bills there should be some type of good service but probably since they know it’s already included they don’t have to cater to us with hospitality. At the end they came down with the little bubble machine gun which was cute.
Listen to each is own I wouldn’t bring no kids nor I would allow kids in this type of establishment with liquor and hookah all around but the little girl that was running around seemed to be about age 4-6 which was inappropriate for the setting. I don’t think I would give this a 2nd try. This was...
Read moreI found this place through a New York City eats page on Instagram — the videos made it seem like it had a great vibe and fun atmosphere. However, when my party and I arrived, it wasn’t quite what we expected.
First, the place was pretty empty — only about 10 people were there — which is fine since it’s a small spot. The nachos appetizer was actually good, and the server (a very kind and helpful woman) was one of the highlights of the experience.
What really took away from the experience was the DJ blasting music at full volume throughout the entire restaurant. With such a small crowd, the loud music felt out of place and made it nearly impossible for us to hold a conversation. We stayed for about two hours and were very bothered the entire time. We even asked the DJ to turn it down, but he said it wasn’t under his control. On top of that, there was a man standing near the DJ (security or staff — unclear), who kept staring at my friend to the point where it became uncomfortable and distracting.
We were seated right next to the DJ, which we didn’t realize would be an issue — if you do go, I would recommend asking to sit near the bar or in the back to avoid this.
As for the food and drinks, it was pretty disappointing overall. The drinks were weak & not strong at all, even after ordering extras. My friend ordered the mac & cheese and found it overloaded with cheese but lacking in seasoning. I ordered the skirt steak with grilled shrimp — the steak lacked flavor and relied too much on the accompanying dressing, and the shrimp was dry. The only dish we really enjoyed was the nachos appetizer.
To make matters worse, they automatically added a high gratuity fee to the bill without giving us the option to choose how much to tip — which felt unfair given the overall experience.
Would I return? No. The atmosphere was too loud, we were bothered the whole time, the food wasn’t memorable, the drinks were weak, and the pricing (with forced gratuity) didn’t match the quality. I expected...
Read moreThis was the worst experience ever. I came here a time before and I thought the food was decent. I bought a couple of friends out for happy hour except it was not too happy. The service was more focused on making money than ensuring satisfaction. I was very dissatisfied with the service. We were set at a table That was very dirty when I asked her to wipe it, she gave me some hand wipes to wipe it myself not even a sanitizing rag and then we ordered our drinks at the bar to have it delivered to our table, so we could catch the happy hour after they had us standing at the door from 745 until eight waiting for a table, even though we had a reservation, happy hour ended at eight so of course we wanted to lock in our prices when we received our guacamole without napkins and by the time we finish our guacamole and chips, we still didn’t receive any napkins or silverware when we looked at our drinks one of the drinks had multiple fruit flies in it When we are dressed all concerned to the waitress Alma, she said she would get us another one at that point I asked the manager the manager came over. I told her we had two flies and a drink, and she said it was the Mojito leaves except it wasn’t the Mojito drink I was talking about. It was a margarita, but she was already ready to give me a story When I told her I was unhappy and wanted to leave. She insisted that I paid for the food that I ate, which was the empanadas and guacamole it’s sad to say that this place couldn’t comp our apps being treated the way that we were treated, I would not recommend this place to anyone besides the music. The...
