Update: lmao I tried to give this place another chance and had another bad experience. Minimal situation but I paid cash and noticed after there was a sign that said you get a discount for paying cash. Though I was charge card rate. I asked the girl at the register and she said it would only be “like two cents cheaper” which I doubt if there’s a whole sign there. Smfh. I wanted to be a regular customer here, I live so close. I was going to leave her a nice tip too. Let’s hope my tacos have all their toppings this time. Will update if not 🙃 Ordered delivery and I received tacos that were just a tortilla and meat, all five of them. The birria tacos didn’t come with the usual side of sauce/whatever it’s called. How does a taqueria mess up five simple tacos? I also noted I only need three sauces total but they gave me seven. A waste of food and packing. Clearly whoever was working wasn’t really paying attention I tried calling them and they didn’t answer. I called again the next day and the woman on the phone didn’t understand what I was saying, we spoke for several mins and she just didn’t understand what I meant? She couldn’t help me at all. She said she’d speak with her manager and that I should call back in 20 mins. I did and no one answered. I don’t have time for this so I gave up but it’s ridiculous. The tortilla and the meat were fine I guess. Nothing special but edible. I don’t think I’ve ever had a taco spot mess up tacos. And hey ok, it happens. But the customer service was awful. I’m very disappointed. This place is close to me and I was ready to be a regular but unfortunately my experience at Homemade Taqueria was very poor

Mexican American who grew up in L.A. here—this place is great, based on my first delivery order. Looking forward to ordering more for sure. Agua de sandía was delicious—part of me wished they’d thrown in some watermelon chunks, but also got more juice volume without them so it was still a good trade-off. Arroz was better than a lot of Mexican places I’ve had out here—definitely closer to some of the places back home. Torta was everything a torta is supposed to be, with a generous portion of meat and beans and everything else and a delicious combination of flavors. Interesting note: they leave pineapple chunks in their al pastor, which adds an interesting juiciness I’m not used to with al pastor. Definitely makes it stand out a bit more.

I got a combo taco, tostada, and quesadilla with al pastor and the cubana torta. The combo was fun and tasty, the meat was a little dry but i went right before closing so i understand (dousing it in the delicious green salsa covered that up). The tortillas are a little on the thicker side and i really enjoyed the tortilla on my quesadilla, and the salad mix with cotija brought freshness that really improved the dish. The torta tho… insane. This thing was the size of my head for like $15 and it’s absolutely loaded with a nice salty sausage, some shaved beef, egg, avocado and jalapeños with generous globs of gooey oaxaca. One of my favorite sandwiches in new york, i literally can’t wait to go get another one.

The food from here is everything you could want in a local taco spot - authentic, well seasoned, great portions, and the service is top notch and homey. I couldn't decide what sounded better so I got a taco assortment - al pastor, shrimp, steak, chicken and veggie for my hubs who is vegetarian. The flavor? Unmatched. I couldn't decide if my personal fav was the steak or the shrimp; both were so well seasoned that I seriously considered asking if I could buy the pre-seasoned meat in bulk so I can freeze it and have whenever I want. It's that damn good. Bonus points for the shrimp taco being nice and full - happy to see more than just 3-4 shrimp in a tortilla. I love supporting local businesses, so definitely hit them up! Homemade Taqueria is going into our weekly rotation - I can't wait to try the rest...

Man, this burrito SLAPPED. We came here after a night out with friends and were craving something filling and tasty. We did our research and a burrito sounded just right. This spot was walking distance from the venue we were at and also had high reviews so we decided to give it a chance. I ordered the spicy pork burrito to go which came with a side of chips. When we got home and had the time to dig into these it was great. Large portion and tasty ingredients made for one of the best burritos I've had in a while. At the restaurant the wait was a little long for the food but I imagine it's because they had a lot of to-go orders. The space itself is simple, Spanish themes and a no frills set up makes enjoying the food the top priority. I'd order from here if you've got a craving for...
