We returned to the city for the week and decided to stop into one of our favorite bar and restaurants with the intention to also see a friend and visit with her.
We walked into the bar and immediately saw the familiar face we were looking for behind the bar, she still remembered us and also remembered what my drink preference was. The bar was lively as usual, we took a seat at a table and immediately had water and our drink order taken. I found a very interesting and unique beer on the menu, which was also on draft, and being as picky as I am with beer I was confident it would be a winner.
The beer was better than I expected, a dark chocolate flavor combined with some vanilla, it was one of the best I had found yet. The selection of beer on draft here has grown significantly to include more of the specialty and craft beers which I find significantly better than the boring big box beers.
I decided to try the garlic parsley fries for the first time and they were wonderful. The garlic was applied in just the right amount, not overpowering and paired perfectly with the parsley. Ketchup of course came with the fries, alongside a second dipping sauce which just enhanced the flavor altogether. It was a chipotle mayo which blended perfectly with the garlic in the fries.
I was craving a burger so I also ordered a burger, they can build an elaborate burger there but I prefer a cheeseburger. I was able to order the cheeseburger medium rare, this is not an option at an establishment with just a mediocre kitchen staff. The burger was cooked perfectly, the quality meat was obviously very fresh and cooked over fire to enhance the flavor and provide that fire grilled taste.
Dinner was excellent, the food literally did not take very long we were checked up on consistently to ensure everything was perfect. Christina ensured we were taken care of and knowing my preference of drinks I did not have to worry about perusing the vast whiskey list. This is a class act and this is one reason why we keep coming back, we also return to see Christina, she is a great person and applies an oversight to ensure everyone feels welcomed and receives great customer service.
There are a lot of bars and restaurants in this area but none who can excel across the board like these...
Read moreGreetings,
My husband and I were visiting NYC and were very excited to find out that there was a Seminole club as I am a 2-time alum of FSU. We visited The Three Moneys locations during our visit over the weekend of November 11, 2023. When we first entered The Three Monkeys bar, we asked if there were any specials, as we noticed online that there were specials listed, including Bud Light that was $5 each during FSU games. The bartender stated that there were no specials and we asked if the FSU game was playing, as we were both decked out in garnet and gold. The bartender stated that the game was playing on one tv. My husband and I proceeded to sit at the bar to watch the FSU game. After the game, we asked for our check (we had ordered 6 Bud Light beers). Our check ended up equaling over $55. When we questioned why the website states that Bud Light beers are $5 each and we were charged approximately $10 per beer, we were then told that the special was only available at the bar upstairs. Being our first time at the bar, we did not realize that there was an upstairs bar, not were we told that beer specials were only available at the upstairs bar. The bartenders told us that “we didn’t have to take it that far” when we were simply asking why we were being charged twice as much as what was advertised on the “NYCNoles” website. This simply could have been resolved if the bartender had mentioned the “football drink specials” were only available at the upstairs bar. We would have happily gone to the upstairs bar. Overall, the experience ended up being incredibly unpleasant, especially for individual visiting NYC and this particular bar for the first time. I encourage you, as a Seminole establishment, to update the website and request that bartenders of your partner establishments disclose the proper specials/exclusions when being asked. Thank you for your time. A very proud...
Read moreI organized a small post Broadway show and birthday gathering here. I was surprised at the quality of their food. Most bars usually have subpar food not Three Monkeys. All my colleagues and I had a good time and enjoyed the food. Staff could have been a little more attentive. They weren't that busy but we had to flag them down to get drinks and food orders in. This is the only minor thing about this bar I could gripe about. Beers are about $7-$8 and drinks $10 customary for the area. They also have happy hour from 12am onward.
The food ordered : Sweet Potato Puffs: Enough for 2 to share. Tasty and a different take on Sweet Potato fries. I loved these and the rest of my group also agreed this was the best from the food we sampled. They come with a dipping sauce.
Marconi cheese bites: fried balls of Macaroni & cheese. These were pretty good and tasty as well.
Calamari: The calamari was surprisingly good. Better than i've had at some restaurants. This is another example of the good quality of the food options available at this place.
Regular French Fries: These were the biggest disappointment. Bland didn't have a lot of flavor. I'd skip em and try another side order or version of fries.
Sliders: You can pick 3 different flavored sliders per order. These were really good as well. The meatball one was my favorite.
Fry Nachos: these are the fries version of Nachos. They taste good and it seems like a good idea but nacho chips just work better. The fries get soggy and it's a bit harder to eat by hand. Wish they had a version with actual nacho chips, maybe they do, but I didn't notice it on the menu.
I would definitely come here again. Nice bar to meet with friends and munch on quality bar food and some drinks. Apparently on Saturday they have dancing, which should be worth checking out....
