The food was very good and so are the prices. We were here on Saturday 7/7/18 for lunch. We ordered off the lunch special menu and both of us had the Mussels Frite one with Field Greens and the other Shrimp Bisque Soup. Each special is $15.95 each. The bottle of Malbec was $39.00 great price for midtown. Our waiter Dimitri was very attentive and was also very happy and fun to talk too. Came back on 8/8/18 for dinner and again ordered the bottle of Malbec @$39. We had the Broiled Sea Scallops @$26 and the Veal Milanese @$24 both dishes were excellent. The Veal Milanese was two huge pieces so next time we will split it. We ate at the bar because we did not see Dimitri, the bartender was efficient but not that friendly as we had hoped. Back again on 6/29/19 and had the chicken parm entree (loved it) @$19, Skyscraper Burger (very good) @$15.75 and a bottle of Domaine Vico Rose @$39 very reasonable for NYC prices. Came back again a day later for Veal Milanese @$24 and roasted Scallops @$29 both dishes were excellent! Both visits we had Dana as our server and she was excellent! Very observant, friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and food at the restaurant. Came back on 11/18/22 for the scallops now $34 still excellent, Eggplant Stack @$14 was amazing and the Large Meatballs @$15 were very good. Tequila w/club soda @$15 ea bit expensive but the glass was nice size. Wilson our server was excellent, he had to get us out of there so we wouldn't be late...
Read morefound this place on OpenTable with wide availability of reservation times on Christmas. this should have been my sign to not come here, as most restaurants had little to no open reservations. went here with high hopes and left fairly disappointed. as other reviews state, this place is more of a diner than an Italian restaurant. after we were sat, our waitress did not visit our table to offer water and place our orders for 10 minutes. the bread we received was the worst bread I've ever had, and the table behind me even described the bread as "soggy".
the parpadelle bolognese i ordered leaned heavily towards a meat sauce out of a jar than a bolognese sauce. the parpadelle was also overcooked, and the pasta noodles kept breaking when I tried to eat my dish. my partner's Linguine carbonara was somehow bland and greasy at the same time.
our waitress seemed careless, given how my partner did not receive a set of cutlery until after the bread arrived. she was very blunt and short with her responses. not sure if it's because she's working on Christmas, but this was definitely not the service I wanted to receive on a holiday.
I now truly understand why good restaurants in NY are booked out, while those that are not worth the price have open availability. both pastas ordered were not worth the $30...
Read moreMy college friend and I visited this restaurant a few days ago and the service was horrible. We were greeted with hesitation and basically had to seat ourselves. It took for ever for the hostess to bring us menus and take our drink order. Once we were finally able to order, the server only returned to our table once to make sure our order was okay. The food was absolutely delicious; however, the service was awful. Another table of ladies arrived shortly after we received our food and immediately they became a priority. Our glasses were empty, and so were our plates. It’s almost like we were invisible. We asked to speak with the manager; however, we were told that he wasn’t available to speak with us. We saw the server speaking with a gentleman over in the corner about our request, but she told us he was not the manager, he was just the boss and he didn’t speak English. We finally expressed our concerns with the server inquiring if we had done anything to be treated so horribly. She told us that it was not at all that way and she apologized if she made us feel uncomfortable. She finally offered to cover the cost of our food; however, this is not what we wanted. We didn’t want someone to pay for our meal, we just wanted good and equal service. Although the food was delicious, I will never...
