Veronica's Bar in Astoria is super casual and welcoming of all people. Great jukebox that you can download songs if not on the playlist. If you're super lucky you'll meet the fiercely dressed, savvy and super welcoming Grand Dame Veronica herself. When I was there she ordered tacos from a local establishment, she will not tell me the name no matter how much I beg, and shared the food with all of us there. Wow!!! Where else does this happen??? I've been to a lot of pubs and bars but Veronica's A local pub has great drink specials such as Pabst Blue Ribbon and a shot for $10. You want authentic NYC blue collar NYPD FDNY supporting bar this place is worth the stop. You'll be surprised content with conversation with other patrons and the fabulous bartenders. This is authentic NYC. And if she tells you where she gets the tacos from please post tag me they're...

First time back in 10 years since I moved out of the neighborhood. A wonderful young Lady Patti was working. My wife & I just saw a great movie at Regal movie theater. (Sneak Preview of the Jennifer Lawerence movie, "NO Hard Feelings" Very funny !! We went to play pool & have a couple adult beverages. We had more adult beverages than pool games. LoL. Patti was a great professional. When our drinks were 90% gone she asked if we would like to have another sip. LoL Very nostalgic going back to Veronica's. Wish Veronica, Eddie, Lorraine, Virginia & Butch all the Best!! Such a great Irish pub for so long !! All the Best...

My wife and I stepped into this place just to have a beer. We were immediately drawn into conversation with Veronica, the owner. She and her regulars made you feel like you just sat down to table with your very outspoken, opinionated family. There was bickering and verbal sparring but most of all there was a whole lot of love, affection and friendship. Judy, the bartender on duty, affectionately greeted everyone who came in. Next time we're in NY we'll be stopping in again to visit...
