I love this place. It is a one of a kind hole-in-the wall New York pizza-by-the-slice pizzeria that somehow offers a full selection of vegan, vegetarian, and meat pizza options. Whatever your dietary needs, you will be able to find a unique and decadent pizza slice with great appetizers and side dishes to go with it. Their pizza creations are all unique and flavorful, incorporating things like avocado, beans, tortilla chips, barbecue sauce, etc. onto their slices. If you are just in the mood for a plain slice or a slice with simple toppings, they can make it for you. The vegan wings are a real treat for vegetarians looking for a chewy, protein-rich snack. The vegan pinwheels are also delicious. They are chewy and filled with garlic and some type of vegan protein. The pizza is solid and consistently tasty. It is not the best pizza in NYC, but it is really the only place you can go that offers such great options for so many different diets and taste preferences.
The location is ideal. It is so convenient to grab a slice here and then hop on the L train. For a small pizzeria, the environment is lively inside and the staff is energetic and helpful. Overall, Vinnie's is a great spot to grab a slice in Williamsburg. For vegans or vegetarians, it's worth a trek over here...
Read moreThis place has very good pizza. I would recommend going there yourself though, do not get delivery. I waited over an hour for an order that was eventually incorrect. I called the restaurant and they apologized and made excuses about how busy they were, which is understandable, but it doesn’t change my dilemma. They said they would send another pizza and I waited, and I waited, and I waited, and eventually I gave up. I got a text about an hour after speaking with them on the phone saying that they had canceled my order. Which is very annoying. For the record, I do not like ordering from local restaurants on Seamless or Uber Eats or anything, and I would have preferred ordering from them personally, but after several attempts to do so, seamless was my only option…. And it was seamless who informed me that - although they said they’d bring me the right food - they were cancelling my order. Really disappointed because I was very hungry and by the time I realized they were not going to send me a pizza it was so late that eating anything substantial seemed dumb.. If you like good pizza you should go there, but if you value good service and want to get the food you spent nearly $50 on…. they are...
Read moreOkay, I typically judge a pizza by its crust which is why I’m giving Vinnie’s 3 stars. The crust was the saving grace. Chewy on the inside with the perfect amount of crispy crunch on the outside. While it was a little too pale in color for my liking, the texture and flavor was spot on. I had the grandma slice and the white slice, and this is where the issues come in. First of all, a grandma slice is typically Sicilian style, square and a little thicker. Vinnie’s was just your average triangle, so the name was quite misleading, and my expectations were fully unmet. Now between both slices, I would have to guess I consumed about 4 raw garlic cloves. There were actual crunches of garlic happening in my mouth as I consumed the pizza. It completely overpowered the flavors of the slices and it’s why I’m writing this review, 12 hours later (and after multiple attempts at flossing, tooth brushing and mouth washing), with the disgusting flavor of garlic still lingering in my mouth. Also, putting elote on a pizza IS NOT PIZZA. If you want amazing pizza by the slice or pie that is literally never anything but perfection, head to Best Pizza on N 7th and Havemeyer. Thank you for coming to...
