The teachers at this location are absolutely amazing and definitely underpaid for the work they put in. All the yoga sculpt teachers are incredible.
However, this studio needs significant renovation. The carpet is dirty, the lockers are falling off the hinges, and keep in mind there are only two bathrooms. Classes also get extremely crowded specifically in the popular ones such as yoga sculpt. Obviously it allows more people to practice but itâs something to keep in mind.
I want to also mention that I think there should be a stricter cell phone policy in the studio. Some of the teachers (Jamie!!) explicitly mention it to students but a lot of times the room is crowded with people on their phones, sometimes even on calls. Itâs very distracting and I think it would be to everyoneâs benefit to emphasize no phones (of course aside from special circumstances). Having phones out also is dangerous with classes using any weights.
I also want to mention that sometimes instructors donât unlock the door for customers in a timely manner( the studio is on the second floor so you have to buzz in). Since there is such a strict late or no show fee, people should be let in a minimum 15 minutes before class if they have arrived by then. I along with many others come from work and there are times where a line starts to form outside the door because the door hasnât been unlocked despite several buzzes. I understand that the teachers are extremely busy but it would be helpful to ensure that people are let in on time without worrying about being late to change for class, etc. But all the love for the teachers that make this studio...
Read moreI love the classes at the studio. I have been visiting for over 2 years now. Kat and Tasha are some of my favorite instructors here. After their classes, I feel like I can accomplish anything in the world.
I don't care so much about other facilities as I do about the class experience. But lately I have been experiencing that the acoustics in the sculpt room have been affecting my yoga practice in the Yoga Sculpt class room.
Not sure if there has been a recent re-installation of the speakers or of it's new set of speakers or something else. But the music on the left side of the room (closer to the entry door) tends to get really really loud (It's definitely more than the healthy hearing levels). I recommend a sound decibel level testing be done in that room, and a max limit is set based on the healthy hearing level. If there is a need for the music to be that loud, I recommend sharing hearing protection ear buds at the beginning of the classes.
I have been visiting the studio for over 2 years and the music definitely wasn't an issue before, but some new change that has happened recently is...
Read moreHave been a CorePower member for 4 or so years and used to go much more often. The company is frequently updating their terms and conditions and then doing sketchy things. Examples include: increasing the "locked-in" monthly membership price and raising the amount of time before a class you can cancel without paying a fee. You also used to be able to pause your membership for free, but now they make you pay $15/month even while inactive.
The studio can be kind of gross, but worse the mats are very close together, which makes it hard to feel comfortable and flow if you're taller. It's really hard to get into the right headspace if you're constantly worried about kicking the person behind you.
I have had a really good experience with teachers here and at other locations around the city, and I think those teachers are quite underpaid for the effort, energy, and time they put into it.
I'm so tired of every private equity-owned company soullessly extracting as much of my money as they possibly can...
