Royal Fried Chicken — Restaurant in Newark

I stopped here on a weekend trip to NJ with my son. We decided it was fried chicken or nothing that day lol ...Not knowing the area we turned google reviews (of course) and found Royal. Easy access, great service willing to accommodate. Weren’t in the salad mood that day so they substituted more fry’s.

The fried chicken was amazing! Wish we had a few of these in the Boston area! The fry’s were good. I don’t say great only because we had a 20 min ride back to the hotel which made them a lil soggy. Definitely didn’t deter us from eating them haha. Maybe a to-go order could be packed with paper around them? Regardless, great food and great service!

If you’re in the Broad Street area in Newark, check them out. You won’t be disappointed! It will be a detour whenever I’m in the NY/NJ area...

I stopped here after I finished getting my nails done next door. I used their ATM and came back. I grabbed lamb over rice with salad. The lamb was delicious the rice was ok expected more flavor. People weren’t watching their kids and they were eating off other peoples plates. I don’t mind sharing with kids but please don’t allow them to stick their hands in random strangers plates. I would definitely return for take out...

Our food was fresh and delicious! We ordered late, after a concert, and our order was still made correctly and hooked up. We had chicken with rice, chicken tenders with fries and fried chicken. Everyone loved the food. Just as a note, help these great guys out by getting your order...
