Hands down - go here. We were wooed by Rogue's reputation for last night's dinner. Big mistake, BIG. Turns out we assumed that reputation because of their multiple locations throughout the PNW.... But that's a disappointment for another review. Just save yourself the trouble and go to Bier One. It's better in EVERY way! The food was unique and delicious - we ordered the spinach artichoke dip, and 3 sandwiches - Italian, Reuben, and Monte Cristo. We also sampled a few of the beers. The vibe was open and welcoming. The employees were happy and nice. The location is homey and clean. They also have shuffleboard, foosball, darts, and boardgames. Kids are allowed until 9pm. The only thing I could say for an improvement would be to update their POS system so the bartender doesn't need to use post-its to keep track of tabs. No judging here, she had a system that worked. Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe liquor store was closed so I thought Iād check out Bier One Brewing. The inside was beautiful and the woman behind the bar was nice. I drank a sample, bought a new growler for my collection, and decided on a cider. The keg blew and she told me that was the last keg they had. A man from the deli area came over to see what was going on and I asked what the policy was for a blown keg. They both looked at me quizzically so I processed to tell them other breweries donāt charge for the last fill if it isn't a full fill. They still looked confused at what I was asking then told me that they would only charge me for a 32 oz. and not a 64 oz. fill. Itās going to be a long time till I return to Bier One Brewing, if ever. Too bad, I was looking for a new brewery to fill...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBier One Brewing in Newport is definitely going to be a regular stop for me in the future anytime I'm in Newport. They offer over a dozen craft beers either from their on brewery or locally brewed in the state. The small but well executed food menu offers several sandwich options such as the Cuban and baked Monte Cristo that are very satisfying. The interior features very fun seating option at the bar and tables through out and there are many games such as foosball, darts. Parking is also very easy at the public lot across the street. It's one block off the main 101 drag on the Front Side of downtown so if you didn't know this place was here you may miss it. It's worth...
