We parked in the parking garage and walked through and outside to the restaurant. We tried to eat dinner there on Saturday night about 8pm but the wait was nearly two hours…and the kitchen closes at 10pm. The music sounded good but i was starving so didn’t stay. We went back the next morning and got there just as they opened at 11am. The server greeted us and served water immediately. Everything on the menu looked amazing. I had the Shiners Shorty which was basically the ultimate grilled cheese with pulled pork and pickled onions with cheddar cheese inside of brioche bread and the outside had a crusty, crispy layer of Muenster cheese. The pulled pork was fabulous and the gooey cheese inside and crispy cheese outside was perfection! Hubs had the brisket dip with white KY sauce-the hint of horseradish is what did it for me. The brisket was tender and flavorful, the bread toasty on the outside and soft on the inside and the Demi glaze au jus was a thick and rich delight! The sauces were made in house. The bourbon sauce was vinegary and a hint of mustard. Which was my fave. I’m so glad we went back for the food because it was well worth it!! The restaurant was beautiful laid out and decorated. I’m a wedding planner and couldn’t help but think what an absolute perfect venue for a reception!! It appears that it’s a restaurant by day/evening and a super cool bar and dance floor by night. If there had been a Sunday brunch with a band and mimosa/Bloody Mary specials, and maybe even corn hole on the patio (with heaters) I may have never left!!! (Hint hint to the ownership!) I would give 10 stars if I could! Loved it.

How is this place not packed?! So, my husband and I are on a trip with our church and we got dropped off for lunch in front of Shiners and we were told we could each find anywhere in the immediate area to eat. Apparently, the other 50 people who were on the bus with us went somewhere else. In my opinion, they made a huge mistake. We were treated warmly by Candace and seated in a comfy seat by the window. Trey came over right away, introduced himself, and asked what he could get us to drink. We only wanted water (they were out of tea 😢) but we ordered the Potato Barrels appetizer. They were yummy, kind of like potato skins, but standing up. Plenty of cheese and bacon. I ordered Brisket with Brussels Sprouts and Cole Slaw. The brisket was the best I’ve ever had. It was so tender you could just stick your fork in it and a piece just falls on your fork. Trey had suggested the Dr. Pepper bbq sauce. Although I don’t like Dr. Pepper, he wasn’t wrong. Soooo good! The Brussels Sprouts weren’t roasted, but they had a spicy sauce on them that really made them delicious. The cole slaw had a mayo base but had just the right amount of vinegar so it wasn’t too sweet. My husband got the chili and salad. He said the chili was really good. I figure that’s because they use really good meat. The salad was just a regular salad, but he said it was also good. He loved the hot bacon dressing. Bottom line: Shiners is outstanding! From the employees to the food to the place itself, you will not be disappointed.

I’m not someone to post bad reviews but I have to state my opinion of this place. Ive been trying to go here for almost a year and I finally went on Wednesday. The reason that I wanted to go was for the line dancing I wanted to have fun even if im still learning. My boyfriend invited his coworker and his girlfriend to go with us and have a good time. We got there and order food and it was not good, the burgers came with some chips and they were awful. Wendys biggie meal is better than what we had. After the meal we tried to line dance and have fun, it was fun at first my bf coworker and gf never done it before and they were laughing and trying to have a good time. Unfortunately his girlfriend had a drink and he spilled it. I don’t know if it was the staff but it got cleaned. We continue to try to dance and have a good time but after a while a girl came up to my BF and said that everyone was mad at his coworker and it was better for us to leave and not start a fight. We couldn’t believe what we got told. She said that is courtesy not to have drink on the dance floor and we can admit it and feel sorry for that. And we are sorry. It was their first time line dancing and going to that place and we didn’t know the rules. I think it should be the staff going up to them and tell them that they shouldn’t have drinks on the dance floor and if people got uncomfortable because of them the STAFF say something NOT the people around. We felt unwelcome and out of place. I felt bad for inviting them cause I was the one that wanted to go there. His gf that went to the bathroom got asked about him and they were talking shit to her. I never thought we were going to have that experience. The people that go there are entitled and judge you if you just want to go and have a good time. They don’t want you to dance if you don’t know the steps. Like I said I understand what we did wrong but we shouldn’t have been treated that way, mistakes can be made no one is perfect but the atmosphere was uninvited. We decided to leave,Im pregnant and I didn’t want to keep feeling unwelcome on that place. My Bf closed his tab and the bartender said a side comment of him having 1 beer, he only had one cause of what happened. No one should feel like we did just for trying to have a good time. My experience was horrible and I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Food bad, atmosphere horrible...

Dined at Shiners to try something new at the Newport Levee. I’ve never left a review for any place I’ve ever visited, but I’m afraid the experience was bad enough, I felt compelled to get on here to share with people what an unfortunate experience it was. Luckily we made a reservation as the wait was 2 hours. We thought “great, we lucked out”. As fyi, we sat and watched tables go unused for an hour while others sat and waiting to be seated. Anyway, the table we were supposed to have had people at it so we were given another table further back near the door, but we were still happy to have a place to sit. We then waited over 20 mins for a waitress to come by the table. The only reason she did was because we finally asked the hostess how we could order and she went to ask the waitress to come by. When she did come by, she first stopped off to get the order from the large group seated only moments earlier next to us. Needless to say, by the time she reached us we ordered the entire meal. First came the drinks. Now I’m a light weight drinker so I thought the moonshine cocktail would knock me out, on the contrary, I seriously questioned if I had my daughter’s lemonade, there was no alcohol in the drink. Then came our starter, we all shared the chili. It literally came to the table cold. We didn’t eat it. After some time, dinner arrived. Now I realize this is a bbq, mac and cheese kind of a place, so I probably should have known better, but I ordered a dinner salad and asked that chicken be added and to hold the onion. It came with onion and without chicken. I would have asked about the chicken but eventually just ate it because the waitress never returned. When dinner was over and she did return she just said they couldn’t add chicken at night because it’s too difficult when they’re busy!?! My advice is to at least return to let the customer know to give someone the opportunity to order something else. Overall, the service was not good, the food underwhelming at best … you could tell the restaurant was new, but you’d think after 3 months they’d have it together. We won’t be going back. I can’t imagine if we had...
