It's the only place near us that delivers calzones. We don't order from them unless we have a big craving for calzones and don't want to go out. Food is okay; sometimes good, sometimes not that great.
I gave only two stars for two reasons. The one time I went inside and ordered to go (I was close by and thought it would be faster), it took almost an hour to get the overcooked food because they kept shoving it to the back of the oven to make room for new orders. And they were somewhat rude when I was asking about my order after 30 minutes or waiting (for take-out!). It doesn't take that long to cook a calzone.
The second reason is their outrageous pricing. It isn't bad if you order what they show on the menu, but there are no substitutions without paying extra. There isn't even an option to make your own on the website. If I want an onion and mushroom calzone, I have to select one of the pre-made options, take off what I don't want, and then pay extra to add the two toppings I do want (even if I'm replacing 3 toppings with only 2!). You even have to pay extra if you want any other side sauce instead of marinara. I can understand charging for additional sauce, but the first one shouldn't be extra!
Also, their website looks like a grade school kid made it for a computer class project. There are a ton of errors and things that...
Read moreWe happened to be heading back to Indy on I-69 and we needed a few things so shopped at the Hamilton Town Center. Lunch was in the air and we landed at the outdoor food court and decided to continue our search for exemplary pizza . Well, we finally had some very good pizza. It is NY style pizza, large slices and warmed up to order. We opted for a couple of the Combo #2s at around $7.50 each with a small salad, soda and a slice of pizza of our choice. My partner went with the margherita slice and I went with the supreme. Both were superb with just the right crust thickness, a slight crunch on bottom and done all the way through . The margherita had distinct garlic overtones along with the tomatoes and cheese. The supreme has green peppers , mushroom and pepperoni. Just the right amount of sauce and cheese. These slices' ingredients were fully integrated and each bite was wonderful. So many pizzas are prepared and come out like you're eating a pizza crust with toppings that seem like they are a separate dimension to the crust. These were a perfect balance of crust thickness , sauce and toppings. Highly recommend...
Read moreI began ordering their regular cheese pizza, well done baked with extra cheese & it is the perfect NY style pizza! You have to order it well done!
Original Post: Background: I have been ordering take out from here for the past 3 years. About 3-4 pizzas a month. I normally order a plain large cheese pizza (I have tried the following configurations: light sauce + extra cheese, light sauce + regular cheese, regular sauce + regular cheese, regular sauce + extra cheese). I have found light sauce + regular cheese to be the best combo.
Overall review of pizza - 3.2/5. If you asked me what this review would be 1 year ago - it would be 4.3/5.
However recently the consistency has dropped significantly. The past 10 light sauce + regular cheese pizzas I have ordered have been all over the place. They are ether undercooked, too doughy, and/or almost no sauce. Out of the past 10 pizzas, I have only enjoyed about 3 of them.
Sadly there isn’t any other NY style pizzas in the area to turn too. Unfortunately I think today is the last time I order from here due to the...
