I refuse to even provide a star rating after our experience last night. I am celiac and was given food that was contaminated that has made me extremely sick. Our waitress Brittney was fantastic and did everything in her power to make sure the kitchen knew about my allergy. When our food was delivered, I asked the person who delivered it if the bun was the gluten free bun and was given a rude look and a snotty, "Of course it is!" response. Then, while attempting to eat the fries that were supposed to have been cooked in an independent frier, I ingested a tater tot or onion ring. We brought it to the attention of our server, she profusely apologized and understood as she faces medical issues as well. She went back to the kitchen to attempt to get us new fries. The second set of fries came out tasting very clearly that they had been cooked in the exact same frier and had an onion ring in them.
This is unacceptable. If you want to have a business that says it offers "food allergy sensitive options", then you need to teach your cooks and kitchen staff how to make it safe. As a celiac disease sufferer, I am in excruciating pain and will be dealing with intestinal healing for months. I take my food allergies very seriously because my health matters. I'm disappointed that Red Robin does not feel the same way.
We visited a Red Robin in Fort Wayne on February 19, 2022, and were humiliated in front of many people when I complained the there was an onion ring in my fries. The waitress got upset at me, told me she would go get the manager to deal with it. When the waitress came back she informed me that the manager would be out to see if I was really telling the truth. 20 minutes later, the manager came out, made us feel like we were trying to cheat the restaurant out of food and begrudgingly brought fresh fries.
It is very evident that food allergies are not taken seriously. It is so important to look after the needs of your customers if you want to stay in business. I have no more choice over my food allergies as someone does of their ethnicity or skin color. It is something I must live with and something I take very seriously.
Brittney, our waitress was awesome, but we will not be returning to Red Robin in any location after our awful experiences.
If you have food allergies, I'd seriously consider whether this is the place...
Read moreHad by far the worst experience at a restaurant in my life here this week from start to finish.
Wife and I came in on a Wednesday night that happened to be National Cheeseburger Day. Put our name in and proceeded to have two groups of two that arrived after us be seated before us. I'm not one to complain, but when my wife went up to ask about it and the hostess said "Oh I have you right here, we just haven't found a spot for you yet" that's when I got annoyed. Drop the BS.
We get seated and order an appetizer. Appetizer is brought out by someone in the kitchen and he's gone before we realize he brought no plates. We then wait a few minutes for our waitress to come around and ask for some plates to eat, and she says she'll look but they've been swamped today and may be out (restaurant is maybe 3/4 full). She comes back a couple minutes later and says they don't have any plates. You have nothing we can eat on? She said they might have some kids plates (you didn't bring those out anyway?) but she'll do her best.
No more than 30 seconds later, with our waitress taking an order at the table next to us, the hostess that seated two groups ahead of us walks out of the kitchen to apparently bring us a duplicate appetizer by mistake, and in her hand are TWO PLATES. She started walking away immediately after realizing we already had our appetizer. I was stunned, and she was 10 feet away before I realized what just happened and yelled out that we'd take the plates. We get the plates (cold, so they hadn't just been cleaned) so we can now eat the appetizer (now also cold) about a minute before our food comes out. Now I'm just wondering if our waitress lied to us or just had bad luck.
I was ready to let it go and move on until the waitress brought us the bill. See, this being a burger joint, they were offering a special on their cheeseburgers, which we both ordered (and were selling a ton of, according to our waitress). But the special price she told us about was not on our bill. You can understand why at this point I seriously considered this intentional. She fixed it, I thought about speaking with the manager, but decided to just get out of there. I still left a small tip, but nobody deserved one in my opinion and it would have...
Read moreWhere do I start for the review for Red Robin in Hamilton Town Center. Party of 4, two orders of tsunami shrimp, one chicken wrap, and one chicken plate. Took 30 to 45 minutes for food to get to the table. The place was not packed at all, and it looked like a ghost town. When the two plates of tsunami shrimp came out the shrimp was cold the appetizers were hot but were wrong when was ordered without broccoli and came with broccoli that was cold one was ordered with broccoli and it came cold and had an order of fries that was actually hot came with onion rings that were hot, but the shrimp was cold. The chicken plate also came cold and was not provided a knife took another 10-15 minutes just to get a knife in order to be able to eat the food.
All three meals were replaced with correct ish orders with correct temperatures. Overall the server was amazing but the back of house staff was full of incompetence, there is no communication between back of house and front of house on when food is supposed to be coming out in a timely manner and at the correct temperature that it's supposed to be. Manager also looked like you didn't give two craps about his job as he only offered a measly $32 off on $100 plus order and offered four free coupons for milkshakes good till the end of the month which is a slap in the face.
There was also another table right beside us that also had issues as well they had a similar issue with all their food as well so to say the least that this place is ran like a sinking barrel of fish oil is an understatement.
Back of house needs to get their act together to learn how to get food out the window as quick as possible in a timely manner with the correct temperature of food and not let it sit up on the windowsill waiting for appetizers to get done while the main course gets cold.
Also back a house needs to watch their language as there was a lot of inappropriate stuff that could be heard coming from the back of house. Something about two waitresses wanting to touch boobs that is very inappropriate for...
