I randomly found this place on Google while searching for restaurants to have lunch at and I am glad that I came across this place! A group of friends and family came along with me to try it and we had such a great experience. I definitely love the ambiance and atmosphere of this place as it is very artsy with some amazing paintings on the wall! I also love the fact that they played some really good old school r&B music our entire time there. Literally just sitting in there and singing all day would have been perfectly fine for me! The staff is also very nice! We were greeted and assisted with everything by Cici! She was the sweetest and most polite person! Great personality and very helpful throughout our entire visit. We also were able to meet the owner. PJ and he was pretty cool! Very personable and down to earth! Now to the food! It was great that they had options because you could either order from the kiosk or order through the waitress. I ordered through the kiosk and it was fast and easy. I ordered the pulled oxtail sandwich with fries and a drink. That oxtail sandwich was amazing! Very flavorful, had a lot of meat, and was juicy! It's not that often where I find places that make good oxtails so I definitely want to come in the chef that made this meal! The fries were also really good! I look forward to coming back to this restaurant and trying other options there. I saw the plates that my friends and family had and it looked really good! If you're looking for a good chill spot to have a good meal and listen to some good music, I highly recommend you come to this place! And the prices are reasonable so you're not going to pay an arm and a leg just to...

Are you looking for a great home-cooked meal in Norfolk? I highly recommend you stop by PJay's Kitchen (PDK) on Granby. We were in Virginia for the NYCE Entertainment Style Master 2025 Event at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott.

After the main event on Sunday, we walked to PJK before they closed. Keep in mind that each meal is made-to-order. There were so many great options to choose from. We placed our order at the kiosk. I ordered the flounder basket with a side of green beans and baked beans. The flounder comes with two hushpuppies. My sister ordered the oxtail and cod tacos, and I shared my sides.

We sat at the bar. PJ fried the flounder to perfection-crispy on the outside and tender inside. Although I ordered two pieces, PJ added a third piece and fried two pieces of whiting for us to try. When I saw the size of the fish, I did not think I could eat three pieces. I had no problem consuming the entire meal. I also tried the oxtail taco. The food was well-seasoned, and I enjoyed the bits of potatoes mixed in with the green beans.

Oh, the whiting was also flavorful and satisfying. Everything about the experience was fantastic. The young lady behind the bar provided excellent customer service. Of course, we met PJ. If you are in Norfolk and looking for fresh, made-to-order comfort food, PJK is...

Omg! I can’t believe I’m writing a 5 star review of an establishment! I came to PJay’s after a game in which I injured my hand and was in excruciating pain. My friend insisted that we try the restaurant out for the first time. I bitched and complained because I was in tears and wanted to go to the hospital. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. The waiters and waitresses were attentive, helpful and genuinely greeting us and assisted us with the menu choices. The owner, Phil noticed my hand and immediately RICEd it! What? My hand still felt broken 😞 That was so sweet and unexpected! We ordered the trio with the catfish, oysters, and shrimp with beans and green beens! We got to the car and I took a bite! The crispy shrimp was amazing! The golden catfish was cooked with perfection and was butter to my mouth! The oysters were yummy! The beans didn’t look all that but I took a bite and another and another. I didn’t leave my friend any to taste! Bangin! And guess what yall? The food gave me a dopamine and serotonin boost! I had absolutely no hand pain! It was a damn miracle! Yo the shiznic stopped hurting because I was in food heaven! The food was delectable! I just wish my greedy a$$ lived a little closer because this would be my...

Ok, how can I begin? I was in Norfolk driving and discovered this place. According to the excellent reviews, my husband and I choose to eat there—a big mistake. First, when you enter the restaurant, nobody greets you. There are two computer screens to your left to place your order. Therefore, you have to figure everything out on your own. We order two oxtail tacos and an oxtail sandwich with soft drinks. The tacos were baby-sized, with nothing crunchy or substantial in them. You barely tasted the meat, and the sauce tasted like a BBQ sauce from the bottle. My husband's sandwich was saggy, and the fries were cold. The time we ate the food was around 2 pm. Around 7 pm, my husband experienced stomach cramps and began throwing up with diarrhea. The cramps, he states, were so bad that even with the alka-Zelzer, he was still sick and experienced abdominal pain. We must emphasize that we were coming from the Zoo; therefore, we had no food before entering the restaurant. The food was $50.00 expensive and did not have good flavor.
