Okay so I just want to start off by mentioning that my family and friends actually LOVE Cheddars. However this was our first time dining in at this particular location as we were in town for the Mideveal festival. We came in on Sunday 4/3/22. We went inside and put our name down for party of 5 (4 adults/1 baby). They told us it would be about a 30 minute wait which we were fine with. 45 minutes into our wait we noticed other groups of people walking in and being seated so we walked in to see if there was a problem. We were told that an attempt to call was made 10 minutes ago. We showeed the lady that our phone had not received any calls and she apologized stating that they didn't have a number for us... weird I know. Anyway they sat us in an area where no one had been seated. This was fine because we had a baby so we didn't mind it, until it took about 15 minutes for our waitress to realize we hadn't been greeted yet. She apologized and stated that she was sorry for the wait that she had been in the back pulling out the croissants to make sure they were nice and fresh for us.. (mind u there was no croissants to be seen). She takes our drink order and walks away.. it will be another 15 minutes before she makes an appearance again. As she returns she has her tray of drinks and proceeds to drop one of the teas on the floor. Accidents happen so we didn't make a big deal . She starts mopping and cleaning except she's just pushing the liquid into our feet underneath the table. She then walks away... about 10 minutes later she returns to takes our appetizer order and we remind her that we are still missing a drink. She apologizes and walks away again. We don't see her again until our appetizers are delivered.. mind u, this is also when our "nice and not so fresh" croissants were delivered. As she is setting down the cheese bites she bumps the ranch sauce and it spills all out of the container and onto the plate so our bites are drenched. Again, not a big deal, we rolled with it. At this time my husband reached into his pocket for his phone and pulled out 2 large shards of glass I guess from the cup of tea that originally broke. This was odd, but we tried to make light of the situation. Our order was finally taken. 2 of us had house salads with our meals but we never received and when the food was finally delivered one of our guests had ordered the Buffalo wrap plate. As the server went to set down her food she spilled the full ranch sauce container into our guests lap. Needless to say the entire dining experience was a nightmare. The ticket was over 100 bucks which we were more than willing to pay but we definitely will not be returning to this location. It would've been nice to speak to a manager but by this time we were just ready to leave. The server made it clear she was new so maybe it was first time jitters? Who knows. Just proceed with caution if u plan...
Read moreI brought my family, extended family, and friend to eat for our yearly gathering. We ate at Cheddars last year and loved it so we came back.
It took an hour to get our food and we were told the reason was because the steaks were taking a long time and the other food was ready and all would be brought out together. I was concerned about this answer. The restaurant was at about 50% capacity.
All of the food was not hot and my 12 year old nephew took a bite from his hamburger and said the cheese was hard. I overheard him say âat least I have left over pizza at homeâ. The cheese was real cheese that felt like it was left out of the wrapper, on the counter overnight. I gave the burger to the waiter or I would have taken a picture of it, too. The two Cajun pasta dishes were lukewarm warm so they took it back and Iâm not sure how they warmed it up but they were not hot and not in the least bit appetizing. The steaks were not hot and one was ordered med-well and it was pink. The other one was eaten because that person was starving.
We asked for the manager and the waiter came back to tell us we would be getting a 25.00 discount for the problems. I asked for the manager again and it took about 10 minutes for him to come to our table and didnât introduce himself as the manager. I asked if he was the manager and he stated was a traveling manager. He said he would refund our drinks (maybe four mixed drinks) and we would get two desserts to share. REALLY?? Three meals out of ten meals were edible and I donât think those people wanted to complain.
This is NOT what I expected out of Cheddars, a place Iâve always loved to dine at. I felt like the manager didnât believe me when I told him about the issues and I am NOT one of these people who try to get free meals by complaining. I enjoy taking this gang out to eat when I visit and I can afford to do so. It is very upsetting that this was not an enjoyable experience. I only wish we had time to get everyone together again to go someplace nice to eat and enjoy one anotherâs company. Iâm only here once a year.
The waiter was put in the middle and I tipped him good. I only hope that he will get better treatment, as well. He was put in the middle of a situation that should have been taken by the manager, who I originally asked for. Shame on...
Read moreThe best part about our dinner was the server was cheerful polite helpful and accommodating. The food however leaves much to be desired. The restaurant is advertised as homemade. The queso comes from a block of cheese that is not top quality and the chicken tenders must have set under warmer lights because theu were overcooked, and dried perhaps the restaurant does not have a warmer box or foil either way the chicken was extremely dry and overcooked very distasteful ) the salad greens were LARGE pieces making them too difficult to eat without cutting up tableside. The green beans were WAY too sweet and way too spicy hot! I've never heard of putting so much sugar in green beans as well as that much Pepper or Cayenne or whatever spice was used to make it hot with spice for the General Public. Needless to say I and my party of four were very disappointed. Lastly I am not clear who's idea it was to take a croissant and mix honey butter on it but it is like icing found on a cinnamon roll. ,, again way too sweet The croissant would be fine stand alone or with butter served on the side. The icing on top was too much for an appetizer even although it was free. Much revamping would need to be done in order for me to return to that restaurant or any member of my party particularly the green beans and chicken tenders and size of the carrots and greens in the salad. We will not...
