Where to start?? I've been enjoying Hideaway Pizza for the past 18 years or so, which coincides with my move to Oklahoma from Ohio back in September 2007.. I find it hard to believe that I haven't reviewed the Norman location yet..
I was invited to attend this location's soft opening, dating back to whenever that was, and maybe earlier, and haven't had a bad experience here yet.. This review covers my last two visits..
On the first, for lunch a few weeks ago, I enjoyed a small Pepperoni Palooza with ham and a Just a Beginner Salad with creamy Italian dressing on the side.. I washed everything down with Corona, served in a frosted pint glass with a salted rim and lime..
The Palooza is my go-to pizza.. The copious amounts of different types of pepperoni and the hand-tossed crust is certainly my jam.. Everything about this pizza appeals to me.. The sauce has great flavor, the meats are fantastic, and the cheese is plentiful.. Hideaway, long ago, became my favorite pizza in central Oklahoma!!
The salads are always served fresh, cold, and crisp, and the creamy Italian dressing has a wonderful zest and flavor..
This evening my wife and I split a Turkey Bacon Club sandwich, a first for both of us, with potato chips and coleslaw slaw on the side..
The coleslaw was cold, crisp, creamy, and the cabbage and carrots were very finely chopped, just like my mom used to make.. It had a great flavor and I would certainly have it again..
The chips were crisp and lightly salted, a perfect complement to the sammich..
The sammich was amply portioned and served hot and fresh, the Italian white bread lightly toasted.. The combination of turkey, bacon, cheese, shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and the creamy Italian dressing was perfect.. We were delighted by how good this sandwich was.. We'll definitely order it again in the future..
At the end of the day, Hideaway has long ago earned our business as repeat customers.. Between the wife and I we've dined at something like eight or so locations and haven't had a bad experience at any of them.. Kudos to the management team for maintaining consistency...

But they were good , mushrooms were bomb no doubt . But had a couple mushrooms that were kinda cold but not like icebox just colder than some of the others it was weird. Ordered a large pizza had chicken spinach Alfredo and mushrooms and bacon forget its name but it was good . We got that to share. . Wife ordered southwest salad 🥗 no complaints I got the chicken 🐔 Cobb salad it was good but chicken was kinda cold ..like it got cooked and was sitting for awhile . Son ordered the Nola pasta he liked it I wasn't crazy about the sauce but he liked it so no complaint here. Daughter got the lasagna it was the bomb My complaint and reason I gave low rating is service and few cold items . Service was not great glad we didn't order soft drunks cause refills and check up on the table wasn't often. My check was 95.85. That's why I'm so picky and may not return Even though service sucked of course I...
Read moreMediocre and overconfident are words that come to mind. Food was dry and chewy and it was $36 after tax and 15% tip (carryout) for a medium pizza, garlic knots, and a drink. For food that’s not as good as the chains, like Papa Johns or Marcos. Yeah. I had to gnaw and chew and grind my teeth on that pizza, and the taste was bland and it hardly had any sauce on it as you can see. Not sure what I’m paying so much for.. Probably won’t bother with the leftovers. Pizzas need sauce!
The garlic knots were good - but parmesan bread bites from Dominos are so much better mmm.
This isn’t a one-off either. I gave them another chance. The parking lot is so small and cramped too and it’s so packed. I’m not sure why. I don’t get the fuss. Maybe people just like it because they have seating?
Staff has never been rude, or overly friendly either. They’re fine! And to the point. Just doing their jobs.
Probably won’t come back. There’s just...
