Firehouse Subs Asheville Airport — Restaurant in North Carolina

I love Firehouse Subs, just not this location. All the other ones you walk into every person behind the counter greets you loudly. I thought this was there "thing" because they always do it. Not here. They don't look up at all. The kids that work here always act like you are bothering them taking your order. Zero customer service skills. Zero smiling. They do not care and look high honestly. Sandwiches took over 10 minutes to get which was odd. I have been here 4 times and last time I asked for it to be plain. When they sent my sandwich out fully involved after waiting over 15 min for a sandwich I took it back to the counter and explained politely it was wrong. The guy quipped back, "it wasn't in the ticket". It's not my problem or fault that the person taking the order entered it wrong or didn't pay attention. No need to act like Im bothering you because I just wanted what I ordered. Then it took another 15 minutes and it was still not remade. My receipt said 12:06... at 12:39 I still had no sandwich and just went and asked for a refund. There were never more than one person in line at a time and was not busy. I placed a DoorDash order from this Firehouse Subs location for two Italian subs and a potato soup. When the order arrived, not only was the soup cold and missing ingredients, but one of the subs was completely missing. The sub I did receive was not toasted (as ordered), and was overloaded with mayo — completely ruining the sandwich. When I called the store to report the issue, I was met with an incredibly rude and dismissive attitude. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, the staff blamed the DoorDash driver (even though the bag was sealed and the driver delivered it promptly). I was essentially gaslit and told that they did nothing wrong. I was then told I had to come into the store for any kind of resolution — which I did after work — only to be greeted by the same unprofessional attitude. No welcome, no apology, just more refusal to help. I was told there was “nothing they could do” and that I’d need to come back again just to get the refund or missing sub I had already paid for. Absolutely ridiculous. Poor food quality, even worse customer service, and zero accountability. This location has completely lost my trust...

I ordered the large meatball sub with jalapenos and it was one of the best subs I've ever had. I'm Italian from Jersey and I know meatball subs. I would definitely order it again. If your thinking about going to an Italian restaurant, forget about it! The sub was on a fresh soft bun with marinara sauce, loaded with meatballs and topped with a large portion of melted mozzarella oozing over the meatballs and the bread. It was delicious and blew me away. The service is always friendly and courteous at the Airport Road location. It's good to see all the employees wearing masks and the employees preparing my sub also had gloves on. It's good to see the other dine in customers we're also wearing masks and practicing social distancing. If you want good quality fast food this is the place. Every time I'm in there I donate a dollar to the hard working men and women firefighters that risk their lives to save ours.
