IHOP — Restaurant in North Carolina

Spent 25 minutes here on 9/16 got a free glass of water and no server ever came to my table to take my order in 23 minutes. This place failed at serving 101. I would rate the food but I never got to that point, but if it was like past experiences its mediocre at best. Would not recommend either IHOP in avl area as they are franchises and do a poor job at the basics. long highly detailed account below I had nothing but time to watch and mentally note this story unfold. I was seated by the manager and a trainee around 7:10pm on a pretty slow sun night- maybe 20-22 customers in the place. She asked what I wanted to drink and i responded water (after being ripped off for $3.19 for a "large" -no-free-refill-chocolate milk in a previous visit). Mgr who sat me delivered the water promptly and said that "T" (who i later discovered was an older lady, 5'2" and moved at a pace slower than a turtle) would be with me after she dropped off some food. I didnt see the mgr again in the dining rm. I browsed the menu and sipped on my water.... 5 mins go by and no one had been by the table yet. A younger waitress in red (about 5'8") was bouncing around the dining room taking customers orders and interacting with her tables. I would say she was covering 15 of the 20 diners in the place. There was a man busing tables that passed by my mini booth at least 7 times, But seeing that she (younger waitress) was certainly busy and appeared to be the only server working, I expected her to get to me when she had a chance -we made eye contact 3 times.10 mins in-i finish my glass of water (never refilled), 12 mins in I see the younger waitress get asked for a check, by the booth next to me via a verbal request across the dining rm from a group of custs who had finished their meals before I was even seated. This group wasn't the younger girls table but she cheerfully got the check and alerted "t" after printing the tables check and handing it to her that they wanted to pay. I watched in amazement at possibly the slowest check presentation ever. T started off the presentation with "was there a problem?" gave the check,tried to clear some long empty plates, proceeded to walk around the block of booths - right past me with 0 acknowledgement and back to the table that was paying. At the same time the younger waitress took the order of a 2 top (females) that was seated after me in a booth that was along the windows. T processed the payment for the booth and disappeared for another 3 or 4 mins. she came back and fumbled with some condiments on the departed table and the younger waitress said to her while pointing to me that I was her table. This was 15-16 mins after I arrived. T then fumbled around some more, went to the pos computers -then went to the same table the younger waitress had taken an order from 5 mins previous and tried to take an order from them. younger waitress tried to correct her and said "He is your table". T protested and claimed the female 2 top was in her section. younger waitress for a 3rd time said no He was seated before them and that I was her table. Unbelievably T did not come immediately over to my table and apologize- she once again started fumbling with condiment containers by the POS stand and 23 mins after I had been seated she started to approach my table. I got up - proclaimed to her that you can not treat people like this and walked up to the hostess area where the mgr who sat me was about to seat a group of 4 or 5 (hopefully not in T's section - they may still be waiting as i write this, 14 hrs after my terrible experience), and I stopped to say to the mgr that this was ridiculous it took so long to get even acknowledged, t comes around the corner and tries to protest that she was just told i was her table. I stated to the mgr, NO she was told 3 times by the younger waitress I was her table and she took another 5 mins to even start to come over to me. The mgr said nothing, maybe a weak apology, as I turned and left the place. Never again IHOP, NEVER AGAIN! Went to moes across the street and had food...

Depends on which location you visit, pretty good pancakes We went to IHOP in Lincoln RI on March 17, 2019. 8:00 am. There were very few customers. We were seated and given a pot of coffee. The waitress said she would give us a few minutes to look at the menu. She came back about 10 minutes later and took our order. A Belgian waffle with strawberries, 2 strips of bacon, 2 scrambled eggs and 2 turkey sausages. More than 20 minutes went by, she came back and said it would only be a few more minutes. Still there were not many other customers.A new IHop opened in my neighborhood. My neighbor gave me a gift card with 25.00 amount. On 4/16/19. I went to use gift card. Arrived at 7:30.Cold food at 8:46p.m. Could not use gift card because manager didn't know how to. Very disappointed. Restaurant was cold also. Will never go back again. Embarrassing to hear that manager could not credit amount off gift card because he did not know how. I called 800 number on back of gift card they said 25. Amount is on card. Poor service and management.I was craving breakfast for dinner on April 29, 2019. So I ordered eggs and pancakes. I had a delivery service called Doordash deliver my food. Well I ate the eggs first then went to eat the pancakes. I took a bite and saw a white lump just under my pancakes. I lifted the pancakes up and discovered a white pill with some white powder all around the pancake. I almost immediately started feeling numbness and tingling on my lips and up the side of my cheek. Then my neck muscles started to go weak and my leg muscles. I called IHOP but they did not answer. So I called the company that delivered Doordash and they documented it and refunded the money. I am currently at the ER getting checked out to be safe.The IHOP in Catonsville Maryland is the worst place to go and eat. The management is a joke. They will steal money from their employees and customers. It’s dirty and they don’t care if your food falls on the floor. They will pick it up and put it on your plate and microwave your food. Go to McDonald’s. That’s 100% better than IHOP. Trust me don’t go here. The owner is a cheap guy and steals money from his employees and does so many tricky things. So I want him to lose all the money he took from his employees so...

I never thought I would write a review, but we have gave this place too many chances. My quick advise would be to forgo the horrendous service and just order your food to-go. I was so excited to try the new holiday flavor pancakes so we decided to give this location a try again after taking a 6 month break because of horrible service. We walked in to be seated they were not super busy, we were the only people standing there. Several employees made direct eye contact with my boyfriend and I yet no one acknowledged us or sat us for well over 10 minutes. We joked with each other that we should have just leave and go to fire house subs.....spoiler alert WE SHOULD HAVE. To start off they sat us at one the TINY two person booths despite the fact my boyfriend is 6' 4", we almost got up and left but our waiter came around the corner and seen how uncomfortable my boyfriend looked and said we could move. He took our drink order, food order, brought it out and said we were being transferred to another waiter b/c he was leaving. We were never introduced to another waitstaff, our drinks were never refilled once, we never even seen another employee. We tried to flag down another waiter across the room but were ignored. By this point I just wanted my check and a box so I could finish my food at home with A DRINK. Have you ever tried to eat pancakes without a drink , trust me it's not fun. We waited an HOUR for our check to arrive...it never did. I have never walked out of a restaurant in my life, but we did. My boyfriend and I have both worked in the service industry and try to always give employees the benefit of the doubt, sometimes to a fault. It takes something truly ridiculous to actually make us mad. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK, and if I could give it less than a star I would. So if you really want their food get it to go or just go to the Asheville location and save...
