Boba Works — Restaurant in Ocean City

My wife and I were so excited to see this boba tea house and bakery in Ocean City. While there are plenty of options for this type of food and drink in our hometown area, Ocean City had not had something like this previously. The bakery options are amazing, and so are the coffee flavors. The atmosphere is both warm and lively, and each time we went in you could tell the customers who were seated were enjoying themselves. While we noticed some other places on the boardwalk now offer “boba tea,” this is the authentic place to find high quality boba. This will be a spot we continue to return to. The matcha-almond croissant, ube brownie and red bean crumb cake were especially delicious! Updated Summer of 2025 to add this: The panko hot dogs are next level delicious. Boba Works is truly a gem! They have an incredible variety, and every single boba drink I’ve tried has been absolutely amazing. Their menu is creative, with so many unique seasonal options—like the Eggnog Tea and Ginger Black Milk Tea, which are perfect for the holidays. Whether you want something hot, iced, or caffeine-free, there’s always something to match your mood.

The baked goods are just as impressive! From the cutest decorated cupcakes to those irresistible custard-filled cruffins, everything feels like it’s made with care and attention to detail. Their macarons, matcha blondies, and holiday-themed cookies are so good, they could easily rival any upscale bakery.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who clearly take pride in what they do. Also, they have a shelf for games to play at their tables, it’s very inviting and welcoming. You can tell they put a lot of thought into not just the drinks and desserts, but the entire experience. Boba Works is a real hidden gem in South Jersey! There's no where else to get such an amazing variety of Asian inspired baked goods. You'll find classics like egg tarts and fun new desserts like their red bean crumb cake. There's a rotating selection of pastries so there will always be something new for you to try.

Their Boba selection is amazing too and not to be slept on. They have a lot of unique signature drinks to try if you're like me and don't feel like customizing your own. My favorites are the Oreo Oolong Cream (milky) and the Passion Paradise (fruity).

The owner/baker Stacy and her team are so welcoming and incredibly helpful. If you're unfamiliar with bubble tea or Asian baked goods, just ask them for suggestions and they'll make sure you're all set!
