Ok, this review is aimed at steak lovers (specifically the ribeye). We began frequenting Woody's (Ocean Springs) about 4 years ago after multiple disappointments at Half Shell Oyster House. My Wife began visiting Woodys before we met and did nothing but rave about their ribeye steaks. So when she introduced me to steaks at Woody's I was elated. The restaurant was clean, the servers friendly, attentive, & competent, and the steaks were flawless. We enjoyed sitting at the bar, experiencing their libations, fun atmosphere, & good times. At the time, their ribeye had limitless depth, the flavor was off the charts, the meat was so tender that it was a privilege to experience. This was a ribeye lovers dream come true!! In the beginning, the steaks were so good, on one occasion my steak was overcooked and it had so much flavor that I ate it anyway. They were just that good!!! We had finally found our new home for steak!! However, the last 2 times we frequented Woody's (over the last 6 months), the steaks had zero flavor and the meat was difficult to carve. The first time this happened, we realized that mistakes happen and contributed the zero flavor & tough meat to an "off-night." So when we returned Thursday afternoon and we BOTH had the exact same problem (flavorless & tough), we brought this to the attention of the bartender (Michael). He was very apologetic (because I had to send my steak back it had been mistakenly over cooked) and corrected the mistake in a flash. When I received my corrected ribeye steak, it was tough and flavorless as well. My Wife was so disappointed she just sent hers back. We tried to explain the obvious differences to Michael that the steaks comparatively from say a year ago to today had a stark decline in the quality & flavor of the steak. In his defense, he towed the company line and defended their steaks explaining that there has been no change to their process (that the steaks are fresh carved and they use the same dry rub seasoning). He went so far to tell me that he tried a piece of the steak that I had sent back and dismissed our concerns by saying it was "perfect." My Wife & I do not have a "Gordon Ramsey" style pallet, but we do know that SOMETHING has changed with their steaks and not for the better. In our opinion this decline is undeniable. We do not know what changed, but the ribeye flavor & quality has declined to the point where when we probably won't return for a steak. We are not posting this with any malicious intent, but out of shear frustration and disappointment that our favorite steak place was...
Read moreMy wife and I were passing through Biloxi on September 19, 2025 for my birthday, and we had several dining options in the area. I originally wanted BBQ, but my wife suggested something more home-style and hearty, so we decided to give this place a try after seeing the long line outside and a 30-minute wait. With those reviews and the crowd, we thought we were in for something special. Unfortunately… wrong.
After waiting 30 minutes, we were finally seated. Then it took another 10–15 minutes just to get drink orders in — not the fault of our waitress, Victoria, who was clearly doing her best. She was running around like crazy, juggling cleaning, seating, taking orders, and helping other tables. Honestly, she was the only bright spot of this visit, and I want to be clear that none of this reflects on her.
I ordered the teriyaki flank steak with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and a side salad. My wife ordered the Mississippi catfish platter. To their credit, once Victoria was able to place our order, the food came out quickly — maybe 5 minutes — and she even apologized, saying she felt bad about how long we had been waiting earlier.
Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were made without a single pinch of salt or seasoning. The asparagus had no flavor whatsoever — as if someone had just cut it fresh from a garden and tossed it on the plate without a second thought. And the steak… easily one of the worst I’ve ever had. Overcooked, chewy, bland, and simply not worth the price or anticipation. My wife even tried a few bites and couldn’t stand it either.
As for her catfish, she was convinced it wasn’t even catfish. The taste was so off and unpleasant that she couldn’t eat it. She spit it out after a couple of bites, pushed it aside, and just ate the fries. That’s how bad it was.
Overall, this was an incredibly disappointing birthday dinner. We waited 30 minutes to be seated, got our hopes up from the reviews and crowd, and left both of our plates unfinished. The only saving grace was Victoria’s service — she was friendly, apologetic, and attentive, and it’s clear she was doing her absolute best under pressure.
But the food… hands down one of the worst meals we’ve had in a long time. Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes, but based on our experience, we won’t be back and can’t recommend this place.

Read moreWaitstaff at this location has not been problematic, but there are persistent, major issues with bar management who seem to think it is appropriate to send bar drinks out in inappropriate barware WITHOUT notifying the patron of the change. In example: this location and bar staff find it completely copacetic to serve a margarita in a beer mug. Which is to say they are charging full price to drink 20 ounces of mixer in ratio to 1.5oz of liquor. Management, when consulted, were wholly unapologetic to this recurrent issue and unwilling to rectify the situation in any sort of reasonable manner—rather opting to blame the customers, us, in a roundabout way, stating that the order could “not be taken off of the bill.” The offer of an additional shot can not fix an issue that has proven to be persistent. This complacency reflects deeper issues within the restaurant than a simple “lack of availability” of margarita glasses. It speaks to the lackadaisical attitude this location has when it comes to effectively scamming customers of their $11 beverage sans any indication that liquor sales are final, NOR that there is a strong chance that it will be served within an incorrect container. We had the misfortune of speaking with floor manager “APRIL”, the restaurant manager tonight, who did the absolute bare minimum to rectify or even comprehend this issue. The best way to ensure repeat business is to make sure that customers feel valued for the expense that is dining out nowadays. Every aspect of the experience matters. Unfortunately, that is not something that has been exemplified by Woody’s Ocean Springs. We will not be returning! The only satisfying part of this experience this evening was our excellent waiter who could not have been more...
