Stop Update: I came here for a second time expecting the same great experience and food and was sadly disappointed. I used to manage restaurants, so to me, the details and small things really matter for customers' experiences. We came to an overly loud space and ordered 3 different slices (cheese, the evoo slice, and a BBQ chicken) of pizza since they were out of the Cowboy Dan. We were so excited to get our pizza, but when it arrived, all the slices were burnt. I then looked up to see if it was just ours because we ordered slices, but it wasn't every single pie that came out burnt. Honestly, I would be pissed if I ordered a $23+ pie, and it came out burnt. Bad reviews coming from many is my guess. That said, I proceeded to taste it, and all I could taste was a burnt flavor. Not good. I got up after I ate ate to mention to someone working, I told him I came on my birthday and the pizza was amazing, but today it's not good, everybodys pizza looks burnt. He proceeded to say "yeah sorry we're having problems with our ovens." I thought well thanks for sharing, but that's your resolution. I'm not sure if he was a manager or employee, but I thought there were a million other ways to solve a problem like that. First things first. Get someone into fixing the oven stat (even if it's Friday), or close the doors. Or offer us to come back another time on you guys. Anyways, it got knocked a star for that. Past experience: This place is epic. They have yummy everything. And it's dangerously good. The full and bloated feeling you get from normal pizza isn't present here. The sourdough pie is the only way to go. Plus, the owner is super laid back, friendly, and approachable. A hotspot for sure, and many have already learned about this spot l, and will continue to. A+++++++++ all across the board. The best pizza is the Benny and the Jets, though. And epic pie!! It's probably the best pizza I've ever had. It was a nice surprise for my 40th birthday celebration. I hope they will consider making that available in slice form. I'd be here all the time for that. Thank you for great care, food, and...

I have spent the last few years selling steak, seafood and chicken off a truck in Southern Nevada, Arizona and California. Along the way I hit every dive bar, greasy spoon and habidashery I could find and have enjoyed sharing them with Google. These days I drive a bus in Oceanside but I continue to enjoy and share my experiences. Today rolled up on Odie's in downtown Oceanside. It isn't open so we will have to wait until May first (if all goes as planned with permits and such). I can't wait, I spoke with Odie, he was gracious and tolerated my questioning him about his upcoming opening and I appreciate that. I will review his products atmosphere and vibe after they open their doors. I can tell you:
Odie's was recommended to us by a couple of friends , so we decided to give it a try today . We stood in line and placed the order around 6:24pm . I ordered a pizza because of course you can't cystimize the slices, my wife and kids ordered slices and I told the lady that it was for here. Place was packed with no room to sit, we stood with the order number hoping someone would leave soon but no luck. The lady comes and drops the slices in our hands while standing up waiting for the pizza . My wife and kids ended up eating by the trash because there was no where else to go. They did like the slices though. We finally find a table around 7:10 pm and we finally sit down as we were still waiting for the pizza. 7:30pm comes which is one hour later and still no pizza, I go to the lady asking her how long does it take for a pizza, she checks and comes back saying you have 5 orders before you and you are number 6. And that could be another 30 mins. I ask her , "is that normal for you guys?" Her answer was "yes, you see that it's packed !" And thats when I asked her to cancel the order because that's ridiculous. The service is too slow which is why the store was packed and no one is leaving quickly. I understand they just opened but come on, you opened right in downtown, so if you didn't expect it to be busy and your ovens aren't enough then you should've planned better. It would be nice if the staff would tell customers about long wait times (90 mins for 1 pizza is insane) regardless how good it tastes. I would like to come back and actually try the pizza because obviously I didn't, but I wont wait that long and get lectured by the cashier again! So for food I would give 4/5 (according to my wife) customer...
