Located inside the old Bigelow Hotel (Now Bigelow Apartments and Residences), Two-Bit Street Café is really beautiful and can be entered in from the South Corner of the building from 25th Street and Washington Boulevard, or if a resident or visiting a resident with friends and or family, there is an entrance inside that you can also enter through. My partner and I absolutely love this place for brunch! The staff, including the cook, manager, servers, and even the owner (Penny, who is really sweet and kind) do everything they can to make your visit(s) welcome each and every time going in for a bite to eat, and to relax and socialize. There are several booths or seats and tables to sit at and enjoy the atmosphere and beauty. Everyone who works there is quick, and really friendly and get the orders always right and the food comes out always high quality looking and freshly cooked and put together. There is an upstairs café area if you'd like to just go up, have a cup of coffee, and work on your computer, etc. Also, the upstairs has a small birthday party area and meeting area for dining and those important staff meetings. The prices are very fair for the portions and food, and are pleasant to see, with all the other restaurants and cafés that have higher prices. I highly recommend this restaurant/café for the exceptional beauty, atmosphere, and fun social environment

me and my dear friend where so excited to try this place because of the cute atmosphere but we both agree this is the WORST restaurant experience we have ever had. the servers asked if we wanted a table or booth. we said we didn’t care, both working at a restaurant ourselves and not wanting to be difficult. the waitress proceeded to sit us next to this older gentleman who obviously wanted to be alone when the entire restaurant was empty and then this older gentleman proceeded to stare at us the entire time as well as the waitresses giving us dirty looks since the second we walked in. the first meal i ordered they where out of. the second meal i ordered came out and had the hardest bread on my sandwich and as well as my friends and had no flavor. i then found a hair in my sandwich melted into the cheese so i know it was not mine. i then told my waitress and she glared at me and then said “oh. ok?” and then took my food out from in front of me and stormed into the back and never got an apology or her offering to remake it . she finally came back with our check and took a whopping $2 off our $20 check which she just assumed it was together and didn’t even ask . food was bad. service was bad. everything was bad we will not be back until they can keep their servers in check.

The interior of the bar area is welcoming and, was to me, nicer than expected. However we had a party of five and were seated in the area where about half the room was taken up by a stage. Special magician shows and a flyer for a hypnotist may be the big draw. Service was slow so it was a good thing that we weren't in a hurry. Outdoor seating was available. Husband said and I agreed that our meals tasted better than they first appeared. And with the prices lower than the same sandwiches, fancier presentation and higher expectations at other restaurants, we thought overall that our meals were a good value. Sweet potato fries were a substitute side and cost extra. Steady stream of customers. We ordered lunch items but breakfast is served all day on the weekends and it may be that breakfast items are more popular.

Okay, now that I've had a chance to calm down from the disappointment, here we go. This place is one of our favorites, but our coffee date was a disaster. From the moment we sat down until the moment we walked out, the experience was horrible. When we were seated, there was an immediate request for coffee. Their coffee machine was broken. If you could have seen the looks on our faces, you would have thought the world had ended. I think that probably set the tone, right there. We accepted the proposal of regular drip coffee. When I tasted my coffee, I was like OH MY GOSH! My coffee tastes like BLAH! Lakaitay suggested I add more creamer, so I did, but the disappointment was already there. When the waitress started taking my order, of course, I had my usual questions and was trying to talk out some items on the menu. I had to keep asking her, what did you say? Her response was "it's early in the morning and I haven't woke up yet." OKAAAAAAY!!!! I went on and Lakaitay Wilder Gibson said "your voice is soft." Okay orders are placed and we're sitting at the table having our usual good time and the waitress comes and offers up more coffee, we accept. As the end of that cup of coffee approached, the waitress was walking by and Lakaitay asked about our orders. The waitress politely said, "let me go and check on them." We have, now, been sitting here for about 30 minutes when the waitress come to offer a third cup of coffee, we decline and ask about our order. She again goes to check. Now, it's been 45 minutes and we are still wondering where our orders are. Lakaitay says, "when she comes back I'm just gonna cancel my order, so I say, "let's just get up and go cancel", so that is what we did. When we approached the desk and canceled our orders, the STAFF got really rude, they were like, here is your order now and the cook literally came from out of the kitchen, slid the food on the table, told us we were being ridiculous and told us to sit down and eat. They said they'd give us a discount, but by this time it was too late. They were yelling at us telling us to be patient. We were as patient as we could have been. I don't know what they meant by be patient when we were the first ones to be seated and they weren't even busy. Sylvia Gomez Gomez said "Is $5 enough for the coffee?" They accepted and we politely left their establishment. I think it's safee to say we will NEVER visit...

Well, we really liked the atmosphere. And the food was alright. Pretty good, especially for the price. But. The killer here was that our waitress was the biggest wench on this side of the Mississippi. She acted like it was a really impossible task to split our check, after she never asked if we were paying together. She also never brought us the check, dispite there being the traditional payment booklets up near the register. She snapped at me for even asking to split the check, and tried to tell me that she PROBABLY couldn't.... (IF for whatever reason this wouldn't be possible, that would have been ok, but a definitive answer would have been preferred...) another waitress comes in and needs to use the register, she takes over, does her business and then asks her why she's having such a hard time. Our waitress complains to her about having to split the check and the other waitress tells her that the check was already split. (Acting like this lady always complains and doesn't know how to use the register.) Our waitress is baffled by this and still angrily (and slowly) tries to process the transactions-- It took her like 15 minutes to split the check and waiting there wasn't the worst part (We had waited for a check for at least 20 minutes without touching our food or her coming over to check on us or refill anything) please note that it really wasn't busy at this time, and maybe now we know why. Honestly, the worst part was that she was huffing and puffing about splitting the check for us, cursing under her breath, making us feel really uncomfortable. At this point, I was ready to pay for both of our breakfasts just to escape this place. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because the food wasn't too shabby and, while waiting for the angry waitress to check us out, there was a male worker, who might've been a busser or maybe a cook. But he asked if there was a reason as to why I didn't eat all of my food. I told him no, that it was really good and that it was just really filling. He told me that he just wanted to make sure that if there ever was anything wrong that we could tell him and he would take care of it. I wanted to tell him that there was an issue with the way this woman was treating us, but I decided against it as she still had my credit card in her possession and was slightly...

Weve been to this place before and had an awesome experience just my husband and I. Unfortunately this time I cant say the same. I dont like leaving a bad review but the owner of this business didnt even want to hear us out before we were shooed out the door, so here inwill leave my complaint. We came in with our kids and were greeted by a man who just seemed miserable. Told there was only one cook and the wait for food would be 20 minutes…ok not a problem at all! We understand staffing problems! However, we were sat, and he came with kids drinks we asked for. We asked for a bloody mary and mimosa. He then told us to get the drinks from the bar. My husband approached the bartender and she said he needed to order through the server. We sat around for a good 10 minutes and just grabbed some menus from the front desk since we didnt get any. We continued to wait and wait until we decided to just go somewhere else. We approached the bartender where the owner and our server was standing. Asked to just kindly pay for our kids sodas and boy oh boy did that seem to ruffle some feathers. The owner who was extremely rude yelled “it hasnt even been that long.” we said we just wanted to pay for the sodas and she kept cutting me off as i was trying to explain our frustrations and she just shooed us out the door. I get it, times are stressful, but there was absolutely no urgency in the staff and we couldnt even order a drink! Not to mention how we were not rude when we wanted to leave, they were SO rude. We will never go back to this place. Waiting for for our food we never even got to order was the problem, it was everything else and the way we...
