Update: came back to this location to give it a second chance & it was a lot better the second time, much more like the sonic I remember from my childhood. The food was actually cooked properly this time which makes A WOLRD OF DIFFERENCE, amazing what cooking food correctly can do for ya huh? Maybe my last bad experience was a fluke or the cook was new or disgruntled or something. Not sure.
I don’t come enough to know if it’s consistent my good, consistently bad, hit or miss, or good but w flukes, so far I would say it’s hit or miss/good with flukes of bad experiences like say.
A lot of it probably has to do with staff being lazy/unmotivated disgruntled etc vs them being motivated & hardworking.
This time (my 2nd time to this location), I would give it 3.5/5 or 4/5 stars. 4/5 to be fair bc of the great prices on the app (which sometimes doesn’t work.) END OF REVIEW of 2nd try at NorthMay SonicOKC.

The Fried mozzarella Cheese sticks I order were empty, yes empty, Literally no cheese in the CHEESE sticks.
HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?! Management?? Quality control? Ownership/corporate? Not a good look…
I mean I am already beefing with sonic over the fact they refuse to release a 100% beef corn dog, but that’s a diff story/ separate issue & doesn’t effect my judgement on this topic or my review (as I still like other items they offer when they are fresh & made right,)
That being said, I paid $4 for fried cheese & only got the breading… didn’t even get any cheese much less it being fried. The tiny bit of cheese that was remaining was burnt onto the outside. Very disappointing. Went there optimistic & excited for a rare unhealthy treat of fried cheese & left with a full serving of disappointment. 0 stars.
They had no cheese in them, &or were overdone to the point that all the cheese had exploded/leaked out while cooking, or they forgot to put enough inside. Inexcusable. The lack of quality control is atrocious. It would take a manager 10 seconds to check each order before sending it out & would avoid all these issues/negative experiences but no, we get lazy low effort disappointments in bag...
Read moreOrdered and paid via the app...pulled up and cones and a truck blocking the entrance and exit....called about my order and was told oh yeah we are having technical difficulties...your order shouldn't have even gone through...well it did so what now? Oh 7-10 business days once I can process the refund...then corporate (who was completely distracted and doing 15 other things) didn't listen and I had repeat myself many times thought that an acceptable way to apologize was 2 coupons sent to the app for a rt44 drink only with purchase...after I had already explained how upset I was and that I would not spend money with their company again if this is how they treat people. The sad part is the money isn't even the issue as all I ordered was a slush...it was the fact that I was able to order and then couldn't pick it up and it took over 20 min to get an unacceptable solution...there is another sonic 4 min away that I would have been happy to go pick up my order but wasn't even offered or the person at the store I ordered at was in there when I called and didn't make the drink so after all of it my food I got elsewhere was ruined because of all of this....not good taking care or the customer at this location or...
Read more1/14/2024 specific; before 10pm: They are closed, but it does not look closed. The lights are on inside and outside, the music is on, and the order screen is on (you can see it from the windows next to the doors the carhops go through). No one is answering the button. The doors are locked (just did a little tug to check if they were closed or not, not intending on trespassing), and no one is in the kitchen. Save yourself the trouble and don't order on the app (like I did...sigh) or go to the location. I went 2 hours ago and just thought to make this review, but I doubt anything has changed. It is likely that they went home early since it is well below freezing (6°F) or they were shortstaffed. I wouldn't want to be the only one working an evening rush or at all, either. My first thought was that someone is unconscious inside, so I hope that isn't the case. I just wished they turned off the lights and music if they had just decided to close early. There was a sign on the door facing the interior that read as a reminder to whomever was closing to turn off the lights, so this might be an ongoing issue...
