Living spaces delivered a damaged desk to my house. It was out of stock, so they said to hold onto that one until it was back in stock. A month later it was still out of stock, so my wife called to ask if she could change to a desk they had in stock, the customer service agent put in the order to pick up the damaged desk and deliver the new desk. The crew showed up and picked up the damaged desk, but didn’t have the replacement desk. The crew lead called the warehouse and they told him it was on a different truck. An hour later they call and say they are on the way but never show up at our house. We call in and they tell us it was delivered and left in a garage. The customer service agent who took the order used the address off of our account that we had a power lift chair delivered for my dying father in law at a hospice house. That’s where they delivered the desk, even though the person at the house told them no one with that name lived there (my wife’s father has now passed) and wouldn’t let them in the house. The garage was open so the delivery crew just unloaded the desk into the garage of the house and left. The hospice house is calling my wife asking when the desk will be gone, and Living spaces customer service has been “working on it” for 2 full days. So I go into the store and ask to talk to a manager. She can see the customer service agent used the wrong address but there’s nothing she can do other than hand me a card for an app to hire random strangers to move it for me at my expense. But hey, they’ll reimburse me through a partial refund to my order if I bring them the receipt. I asked why they couldn’t do that for me since it was their error, and she said “that would take a company card and the only person with one of those is the GM and he isn’t here”. What a joke.
UPDATE: I took in the receipt for the movers from the app they told me to use, and they refunded the exact dollar amount I paid for it and called the manager Russell to come and talk with me and he radios back that he’s too busy and that’s all they are doing for me. That’s the living spaces customer experience apparently. To treat a customer like that is disgusting, even worse when it’s someone who spent $12k in less than a year in your store. Never again, I will tell everyone I know about...
Read moreMy wife( my husband wrote this review since I wasn’t with him on the first visit, posted it) and I visited this store when it first opened, nice atmosphere no high pressure sales stalkers. Fast forward a year later. I stopped in to look at a bedroom outfit for our 2 little girls. Picked out the items, 2 twin beds with $1100.00 mattresses, and a chest of drawers north of $4500.00 total. The sales guy led me to believe the items were in stock. He offered to write up an order and email it to me. I left the store, showed up later with my wife to show her the items. Lo and behold the truth is, they not only don’t carry the inventory in their stores, the items are mysteriously no longer available. Instead of offering a solution the sales guy simply said his hands were tied as well as the manager. On our way out the door I told the guy at the entrance, “ we tried to spend $4500.00”, his reply was “ we have reports we must stick to”, whatever the heck that means. This store is clearly run by a group out of California, and it shows. With this horrible customer service they will not last long in this market. Read the reviews. It appears all the negative reviews have one common theme, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, DELIVERY ISSUES, CAN’T REACH ANYONE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT, ( because there isn’t any). Their response is always the same. They clearly do not care about their customers.
Once we left the store. We pulled up the reviews. They are horrible. The real story behind any business is looking at the negative reviews and see how the company responds to their customers. Thank you for saving us $4500.00. We absolutely will NEVER be back! We will spend our hard earned money with a local furniture store. For anyone reading this review save yourself from a very bad experience and shop else where.
FYI- if you read their response, it appears to be a “copy & paste” reply. All the negative reviews have the same response from this company. The responses almost feel like they are cold, careless, impersonal, & AI generated. Proving that this business doesn’t really care about you, the customer. They don’t want to resolve any issues. They just want you to think, reading these reviews- that they care about the customers when they absolutely do not. Read more reviews if you don’t...
Read moreBLUF: Amazing experience coming from a person who doesn’t like shopping. Literally the only place I will now go for furniture shopping!! THE ONLY PLACE!
Story: I DETEST furniture or car shopping! Capital “D-E-T-E-S-T.” However, I love my wife more than I detest shopping, so I begrudgingly relent to her replacing our two perfectly fine sofas with a sectional. I accompany for what I am sure will be a full day of scowling at sales people during prisoner-of-war type sales techniques, to include: food deprivation, meandering to the point of fatigue, emotional breakdown through small talk, and forced activity through at least 50 body weight squats on and off furniture. However, it is important I be there for man shopping reasons… like ensure that crap is heavy and made of more than particle board, avoiding expensive and unnecessary gadget upgrades (which will be the first thing to break), more scowling, and unintentionally make sure everyone feels rushed and doesn’t enjoy themselves… which sometimes aids in inevitable talks about prices.
Prior to all this I interrogated my wife to ensure I had a good idea of what “we” wanted and that “we” didn’t get distracted by something “we” didn’t actually want. Which is what happened with our two current couches, and I am terrified it may happen again in less than 20 years… which is how long I want this sectional to last. I managed to get us through two other furniture stores without buying anything, because we didn’t find what we were looking for. Last ditch effort we went to Living Spaces… which we had never been to before.
Walked in, pleasantly greeted and pointed in the direction of motion sectionals… yep, everything is organized into easily identifiable sections, with the crap you’re looking for next to the other crap you’re comparing the crap to. No commission staff, so they appropriately engaged to help us and check on us, but only enough to be helpful and don’t stalk around us. Relaxed and spacious environment. Complimentary coffee, affordable bar food/drinks, and supervised childcare with a huge play area. Bought the exact sectional we had envisioned, modular with extra seats and recliners. No up charges. Easy check out. Cheaper than less customized versions at other places. 5...
