Came in here after I got off work a little early to check out their happy hour. Had a beer, some wings, and the loaded potato dip. The beer was good, but the wings and dip were pretty subpar. The loaded potato dip was supposed to come with homemade potato chips according to the menu but came with tortilla chips instead. It wasn't good and I left most of it there. The wings, in my opinion, did not meet my expectations. The huli huli chicken sauce was not what a huli huli sauce should be and tasted ketchup based. The bbq dry rub wasn't for me either. The wings were cooked well done, but the flavor was off. I'll probably give it another shot someday and see what the bbq is like. But for now, I won't be returning for the wings and dip, that's for sure. With all that being said. The bartender was great and very attentive, and there were no problems with the service. **Update ** Came back here yesterday evening and caught the last half hour of happy hour. Ended up staying and ordered some dinner. It was a Friday, and the place got super busy while we were there. Started off with the loaded potato skins. They were very tasty and only came with 4 to the order. Got them for the happy hour price of $7. I wouldn't get them again if I was paying the regular price of $14. Ordered the smoked half chicken, Brussel sprouts, the smoked bbq brisket focaccia, and the full-sized garden salad for diner. It took about 40-45min for our dinner to arrive. First, let's start with the garden salad, which was supposed to come with a house made brisket bacon. The brisket bacon was missing from the salad. Had to ask the bartender what happened to the bacon? Then, I was told they were out of it, and yet we were still charged the full price of $14 for it. The focaccia was really good, but it comes as one huge chunk of bread that is topped with the brisket. It would be easier to eat if it was sliced into pieces. The chicken was flavorful and cooked through. IMO it could have been cooked a little bit longer to make it a little more tender. The Brussel sprouts were a solid side and a worth ordering. The place has the potential to be really good if it was managed better. The kitchen was clearly way backed up and the bathrooms were a disaster. Trash was overflowing, with no paper towels in both tbe Men's and Women's restrooms, and this was around 7pm.

Great name, but that's it. I had high expectations of this "smoked BBQ" place, and I was quickly disappoined. I originally saw Oak & Ember on IG as a new smoke BBQ place in Rancho Cucamonga. They claimed to be better than Lucilles, so I was excited to try it. As a person who really appreciates smoked meat, I really wanted this to be in my restaurant rotation. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with this over rated and over priced restaurant. First of all, who charges a la carte for BBQ? 🤨🤨 When you first drive up, you find yourself feeling nostalgic when you see the smoker parked in one of the spaces. Clearly, it's not an operable smoker and just for show. You walk in and there is absolutely no scent of smoke at all. How do you call yourself smoked BBQ if the first thing you smell walking in are the brussel sprouts. 🤨 I wanted this to work so I tried to keep an open mind, but from the moment we were seated, it never got better. We ended up with a server who seemed new to her job, but has actually been there for several months. Drinks were ordered and I think I must have had the baby lemon drop. The glass was so small, and the drink still wasn't even close to the rim. Redeeming point, it was tasty. 😋 We selected the "smoked" tri tip and brisket, Mac & cheese, strawberry field poppyseed salad & ceasar salad. We asked for the salad to come out first...that didn't happen. 🤨 Once we received our food, the presentation was better than the flavor. They forgot to toss the strawberry field in the poppyseed (dressing), the 12+ hour smoked brisket was tender, but cold and it had the flavor and consistency of oven baked brisket not smoked. The tri tip was slightly dry, and definitely needed sauce. The Mac & cheese was ok, but could have used some salt & pepper. Which was nowhere in sight. 😐 Sadly, this did NOT live up to the hype. I guess the hunt continues for authentic smoked BBQ; which clearly is not Oak & Ember. 👎🏽👎🏽

This evening, I chose this restaurant to celebrate a friend’s new career venture, thinking it would be a great spot for the occasion. Unfortunately, I should have read the reviews beforehand, as the experience turned out to be a major disappointment. Our food took an unreasonably long time to arrive, and when it did, it was cold. Throughout our meal, our server was nowhere to be found. Each time we needed something—whether it was silverware, napkins, or refills—we had to ask multiple staff members, only to be told, “Let me get your server,” as if no one else could assist with basic requests. We didn’t even have napkins when our appetizers and entrées were brought to the table. After sending our food back due to its temperature, our server asked if we wanted to take it home rather than offering a proper resolution. We ordered the meatball sandwich and Brussels sprouts—the sandwich arrived looking completely unappetizing, and the Brussels sprouts were burnt. Only after we asked for the check did the server attempt to salvage the experience by recommending something else from the menu. At that point, it was clear they only addressed our concerns once they realized how disappointed we were. Between the poor service, cold food, and lack of attention to detail, this was an extremely underwhelming experience. Unfortunately, we will not be returning

My girlfriend and I came across this restaurant on Instagram after it went viral from a reel by @onlyintheie, which made the food look incredible—like premium BBQ brought to the Inland Empire. Unfortunately, that turned out to be complete false advertising. From the poor quality and small portions to the cold plates, the experience was a huge letdown—especially considering I spent over $100 on a disappointing meal.

When we arrived, the service was great at first. We were seated quickly, and our server, Vanessa, was friendly and attentive. I ordered a Shirley Temple, beef ribs, 1/2 chicken, brisket, mac & cheese, and fries. My girlfriend ordered the filet mignon, mashed potatoes, and mac & cheese as well. The first red flag came when the waitress told me they didn’t have grenadine for the Shirley Temple—not a huge deal since they found a decent alternative, but still unexpected. Then, after placing our order, she informed us they were out of ribs. That was disappointing, but I moved on and ordered the 1/2 chicken—only to be told I got the last one because they had run out of that too.

After waiting about 35–45 minutes, the first dish arrived: my chicken, which was cold. I sent it back. Then my fries came out—also cold and honestly worse than In-N-Out or McDonald’s fries. They were thin, shoestring-style, and the portion was tiny. When the brisket finally arrived, it was nothing like the ad, which showed four juicy slices. Instead, I got two cold, rubbery slices that felt like chewing on a tire. The mac & cheese was another disappointment—it was advertised as a generous portion served on a skillet with plenty of cheese, but in reality, it came in a small cup and tasted like Kraft mac & cheese.

For my girlfriend’s filet mignon, the menu listed it as 10 oz, but what she got was barely 6 oz, smothered in soy sauce and crumbles that weren’t mentioned anywhere in the description. She sent it back and ended up settling for a mediocre burger just to have something to eat. Her mac & cheese was just as bad as mine, and her mashed potatoes were flavorless.

The only positive part of our experience was our waitress, Vanessa. She provided great customer service and was very apologetic, but unfortunately, that didn’t make up for the food quality. I hope the restaurant takes this as constructive criticism because if they don’t improve—especially with so many customers having the same complaints about food running out, poor quality, and overpriced meals—this business won’t last. Charging people $100+ for awful food just isn’t sustainable, and I definitely won’t be...
