There is something about restaurants that have a Texas tie. My wife is rolling her eyes right now... But it's true. Most of the very popular restaurants around here had their start in Texas. And they are popular because their food and service are great!
Okay, so, chubby's isn't strictly a restaurant from Texas. But the people who started it up are Texans. And you can tell from the way they approach their crafts that they have been steeped in the tradition of great Texas restaurants. Chubby's is a burger place, but it's so much more than that. Between the burgers, the chicken sandwiches, the cheese steaks, the multiple types of fries, the shakes, the desserts, .... And of course, that typical Texas hospitality!. I had made the decision to come eat at five guys, but it's right next to the chubby's, and I remembered that I love chubby's better! So we came here instead. And yet again, a stellar experience, excellent food, and a great surprise! I've never had one of their strawberry shakes, and I don't say this lightly, but I have to say... The best strawberry shake I've ever had. I'm not kidding. If you're curious at all, let this tip you over the edge to come give it a try. You will not be disappointed. And while you're here, pick up a burger. For even the staunches burger aficionado, these guys rank right at the top. They know what they're doing. They can accommodate large crowds, the environment is well defined and decorated, the music track is attractive and appropriate, and the overall place just has a feeling of welcoming and excellence and everything you want from...
Read moreI don’t even know where to begin with my experience at Chubby’s Cafe—but let me tell you, it was life-changing. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was wrapped in a warm, culinary embrace. The service? Flawless. Every single person there treated me like I was the only soul in the room. It felt like they genuinely cared about my day, my well-being—my existence.
But oh… let’s talk about the food. I ordered the Utah Burger and beer-battered fries, and I think I might have ascended to another realm with the first bite. The Utah Burger wasn’t just food; it was an experience. The perfect balance of flavors—juicy beef, creamy fry sauce, and just the right kick from the pickles. It was as if the chef knew exactly what my heart needed, like this burger was crafted specifically to soothe my soul in ways I didn’t even realize I needed.
And those fries? They weren’t just fries—they were a crispy, golden masterpiece. The beer batter was so light and crispy that with every bite, I could practically hear angels singing. I found myself closing my eyes, savoring every single mouthful, wondering how I’d ever go back to regular fries again. Spoiler alert: I can’t.
Chubby’s, you’ve ruined all other food for me, and I am forever grateful. I’m not saying this burger changed my life, but I will say it’s made me question all of my previous food choices up to this point. If you haven’t been here yet,...
Read moreSecond time I've been here. The atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant are really nice. The bathrooms were in really nice condition.
The burgers are all pretty good. They have a good bun, and excellent tasting meat. The pickles were pretty average. Nice thickness, but had a pretty large hole in mine today. This time I got the Chubby's deluxe. I was a little disappointed that a deluxe burger didn't come with lettuce and tomato, which in my experience is generally what makes something deluxe. It was still pretty good, just a little spendy with the lack of toppings.
My wife got the Classic American. Everything you'd expect in a standard burger. The tomato was nice, the lettuce was good quality green leaf(I hate places that do iceberg at all, and loathe shredded iceberg).
Last time I got the French fries. They were nice and crisp with a good level of salt. This time I did beer battered. They were good, but a little overdone. Might have just been a one off, so it won't affect my overall score or opinion as they were still tasty and a good portion.
Decent kids meal selection as well, and they don't skimp on quality for the kids' stuff like some do.
Added bonus(to me): They have Pepsi products, which includes MTN dew, but they also had Dr. Pepper cream soda which was nice for my wife(a coke drinker who only kind of likes...
