I showed up at 12:15 am hoping for a quick easy pizza on our way out of Universal Studios City Walk. Our order was placed at 12:18 am with Jose while the restaurant was pretty dead. After about 25 minutes I asked a server how exactly we would know whether our pizza was ready considering it had almost been a half hour and we hadn't heard anyone's name called yet and no one bothered explaining their process. She looked like she was ready to keel over from exhaustion and after explaining patiently to her two or three times that we ordered in house and not mobile, she told us to wait by the mobile pick up window and that our name would be called. So we sat quietly and patiently for another 15 minutes. At that time I asked another server who was passing whether or not our order was coming back soon. She said she would check. We never heard from her again. 10 minutes later we asked a cook the same question. He said he would check. We never heard from him again. All the cooks and servers were joking and cracking up near the oven and cleaning as if they had no orders coming up. I went to the register to ask Jose what was up with our pizza to which he replied "oh you haven't gotten your pizza yet?" And just walked away. He went to talk to the cook and girl we had spoken to previously and at that point they quickly threw together a pizza and threw it in the oven. No apology for making us wait over an hour at this point. No offer to talk to the manager. No offer of recompensation. About 10 minutes later another cook came and asked us "is this the pizza yall have been hanging out waiting for?". Yeah dude, hanging out for almost an hour and a half for ONE pizza for the fun of it. Every single person we spoke to was extremely unprofessional and nonchalant. If the pizza didn't taste decent I'd have been livid. This place is a joke, the service is a joke and it makes universal studios look like a joke for placing them right next to the entrance. We'll NEVER be back and we will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. If this is the type of practice universal promotes then we may never bother visiting or recommending universal. This whole experience was an infuriating joke. If you have a couple hours and alot of patience to spare, then enjoy. If not, don't bother. Also look at the other reviews. This was...
Read moreThis WAS a place we enjoyed year after year. Unfortunately we will no longer dine here. The pizza toppings was limited....like really limited. Custom Cheese Pizza = Sprinkle of cheese, jalapeño toppings was maybe a quarter of a jalapeño diced and tossed into the middle, five olives (yes we counted them). It was all bread. Guess inflation got to this place too. Come on red oven guests like pizza to taste like pizza not a loaf of bread. I know they get busy at the end of the day but the seating host almost had a nervous breakdown, they could not coordinate seating at all. I actually saw her overwhelmed and she got reassigned after letting out her frustrations with manager. The topping on the cake... little bitty tiny cups of water. You would think that this place would give glasses of water along with three PAID iced tea's, after a hot day prefer water over fountain drinks and not really willing to pay $5 for bottle of water. Anyways...was a top choice to visit in the past but will not return so scratching this one off from future visits and give future guests heads up on this place. You don't want to ruin your day. Need to mention that there was a guest that was on waiting list for table with family then another guest grabbed a table that got wiped down and seating host lied that they were already on the list. I know this for sure because you can't get on waiting list until you check in and the family had just walked in and placed a food order. So don't try to make up an excuse for this one. It was really obvious that a mistake was made so just apologize and don't lie to the guests. I was there for 45 minutes and was watching the seating host the whole time. Not nice. Sorry red oven but you really disappointed and lost a loyal diner with family. So sad...bad place to...
Read moreIf zero stars was available as an option, that is what they would get. This occurred 3/17/2021... walked up to the entry, waited a minimum of 10 minutes (it was more like 15 minutes but Whatever)... it took that much time from Amanda (from NY per her badge) to acknowledge that I was waiting to be placed on a list for a table. It took her 3 times to get the name “Paul” and the phone number. Amanda then told us it would be about 20-35 minutes. We waited at the entrance and 30 minutes later, we were wondering why families walking up were being seated right away, while we were waiting for a our text telling us the table was ready.... one family received a text, the next large party of 5 was told there were 2 groups ahead of them but were sat anyway. When My husband asked what the status of our wait time was, Amanda told us that she gave our table away, because she texted us and we didn’t come up. We were literally standing there at the entrance the entire 40 minutes. Amanda was struggling to hear the name, it’s highly unlikely she got the phone number right either. I really don’t think she texted us at all, and I don’t think all of a sudden Verizon cell towers went down. The manager offered to get us a table right away but after waiting almost 1 hour just to get a seat, we were not willing to wait any longer. This is completely unacceptable. I understand capacity and Covid restrictions, but Amanda likely caused this due to her inability to concentrate, accurately hear name/phone number, lack of verification on her part and her overall struggle with completing simple tasks. I do not think this is the job for her.
It’s too bad, we would have really liked to try the pizza. Next time we visit City Walk, it definitely won’t be Red Brick...
