Atmosphere was homely with the welcoming conversation porch and rocking chairs. The gift shop is my attraction especially the items that are old school replica of sorts. Then the best attraction to me is the utilization of the overhead space with the museum of American history of farming and industrial implements, farming being the stabilizer. It's a brilliant showcase of American skill, reuse, and repair.
Expected and received food, needing a few improvements, and service with exceptional satisfaction. Ms Susan was our outstanding server. She kept abreast of our needs with cheerful demeanor, and when we needed the manager to file complaint about the food, she kept checking on him and reporting to us. Mr. Carlos arrived and was very careful to stoop down at the same level as we were to hear what we had to say. We praised the server and thanked him for appearing.
We would like to see the following:
Bring back the mini honey bottles. It's a main attraction of mine to eat at Cracker Barrel as I get to take the cool bottle.
I heard the store was going to be modernized and asked that the museum be maintained overhead as it is now. Mr. Carlos assured me the display of nostalgia was not changing, but the walls, perhaps the lattice work. I ask that the bare wood, to give that rural country feel, remain. Perhaps lighten the wood color keeping the natural grain. Let the fireplace work in Winter if not so.
Declare the content of the menu. My pinto beans side had pork in it. The menu did not explain that pork was in the beans. I expected beans not beans and pork. Some people of certain cultures, and religious persuasion avoid pork at all cost and might be offended, should they discover a food they failed to verify, and one that Cracker Barrel included but did not declare.
Can the receipt list the items eaten, instead of just " vegetable" and show the address and phone number of the restaurant?
Can the parking lot light at the SW corner of the lot be fixed? It was very dark at that corner and a lot of oak leaves had accumulated where we exited our vehicle
Except as listed above our experience was great.
The cod fish was excellent with the steamed broccoli and cole slaw. My wife's cod fish, and corn were enjoyed.
We wish the staff the very best, and may The Almighty God bless the effort to provide delicious recipes from his vast creation of food.

Read moreService was horrible and the food was abysmal. Most likely won't return. We've been before and had no problem; this time, the workers we lifeless and looked listless or annoyed as to having to even be there. Our server didn't bring anything to the table in a timely fashion and we had to ask for everything we needed. After asking for bread were not given plates, just a basket with 4 biscuits that were barely passible. One of the biscuits was too tough to eat. For those 4 biscuits we were given 2 tiny butters total. One of those butters covers 1/2 the biscuits. We asked for plates and was told, well do you really want plates your dinner is coming out soon. We mentioned we were using our napkins to eat them. Asked for more butter and was given 2 more tiny butters (the ones you barely get a knife tip into to scrape). When asked for sides I opted for a 'loaded' baked potato which they charge you almost 3 dollars extra for. It came back half over cooked inside and barely bigger than one of their dinky biscuits. I guess they're trying to cut costs... My Chicken fried steak was luke warm and the gravy near cold. Mom's chicken and dumplings was Dumpling and dumpling and dumplings with a few strands of chicken. We aren't the type that believes in wasting food. We ate what we could stomach and left the rest. Never was asked how things were & had to make sure we got refills after being promised 3 times to have had it done. I'm mad at myself for suggesting the place we should've gone to Texas Roadhouse. Cracker Barrel, go eat at Texas Roadhouse and you'll learn what your 'eating experience' should be like. Don't concentrate on their decor, just pay attention to the food that comes out and the temperatures and the frequency of how the customers are taken care of. That's what you should be producing at your joint. Our money is going there and or other places that provide a true dining experience. I usually don't take pictures of food that was bad but here below are two of the tiny potato (it looks huge in the picture but it was smaller than my hand) and the dumpling plate. If it was a better meal I would've...
Read moreThe country is no longer Cracker Barrel. This cracker barrel look what you wanted to turn into a sports bar with a touch of country. I didn't feel welcome I didn't get the country by the field at the cracker barrel used to get when you walked in and you were glad to be there. People following me around and just because I was by myself I thought I was a thief I had to tell them to go away and leave me alone I was waiting on the table. The hostess with extremely polite and nice and great customer service. She was the only good one there. She sent me on my table. Several servers when find my table didn't say anything. I decided to time them. I didn't get a greeting I didn't get I will be right with you. No one asked me if I want to drink or if I was ready to order. I thought they were 15 minute. 2 groups of people set down in the table behind me. The service said they would be right with them. 5 seconds later took their order their drink order and I was still sitting there and no one approached me. I picked up my menu gave it back to the hostess and told her no one served me so I'm leaving. I was extremely thirsty extremely hungry and was looking for a good country meal. The old cracker barrel would have served me immediately even if I was just sitting by myself. This cracker barrel don't care they just want a big tip and one person doesn't give a big enough tip. I asked for a manager. The lady called for a manager it went by 2 minutes and the manager never even showed up I guess this place don't care about customer service or guest satisfaction. I can see this cracker barrel closing because they're going downhill when it comes to their reputation is destroying it. Cracker barrel used to be all about customer service the warm country welcome in the world country feel of the place where you can always welcome to come in and now they change it. I don't feel like that anymore. And I'm still hungry I'm looking for a place to eat and get something to drink...
