Oh my gosh, why can't I give 0 stars. We just returned from a 40+ minute trip through the sonic "fast" food drive through at this location and learned just how abysmal the customer service is. The speaker at the drive through is broken (still - for months now) so everyone had to drive to the window (where there isn't a menu) to try and place their order which took forever. When it was finally our turn we ordered popcorn chicken and three milkshakes and a blast. We were told that their blast machine wasn't working but we could have four milkshakes - ok. Then we were told that someone left their ice cream machine in the "wrong setting" for too long so the ice cream wasn't hardened. We agreed to wait in one of the stalls and were told that the ice cream issue had already been resolved and we should have our shakes soon. We waited at least 15 minutes. A car hop brought our shakes to us but had no idea what flavors they were saying she "didn't make them so I don't know which is which". Didn't really matter because they weren't milkshakes at all - they were all the consistency of regular milk. A few of us tasted them and they were disgusting. We then asked to speak to the manager. After waiting another 10 minutes a manager arrived at our car and asked us what the problem was - just like that. After telling us she had just made three milkshakes that looked fine she took a look at ours and agreed that they were unacceptable. We asked for a refund. Another 10 minutes went by and she sent a different car hop out to give us a portion of the amount we actually paid for the milkshakes. At this point we were absolutely done with the crappy customer service and walked back up to the restaurant to ask the actual amount we paid for the milkshakes that we couldn't drink. The manager came back out and gave us literally every excuse in the book - they were really busy (3 cars in the stalls, 3 in the drive through), she wasn't the one who made the milkshakes, she wasn't the one who calculated the refund, she wasn't even "the person we should be talking to" - apparently there were two managers and we should have spoken to the other one. So we asked to speak to the person who could actually rectify the situation. We watched the manager and our car hop go back into the restaurant and talk to someone (I can only assume was the other manager) who hid behind one of their machines the entire time and never came out to speak to us. We waited several more minutes while they talked and glared at us and then the car hop came out and told us that we needed to give him the original refund back because they had canceled the whole transaction and our money should be back on our card - that remains to be seen, but it's early yet. All in all - one of the worst excuses for customer service...
Read moreA few days ago we came for a chili dog during a surprise visit from my dad. They are his favorite. We sat in the drive thru lane for twenty minutes after ordering a single chili dog and nothing else. I wanted to leave after ten minutes, but dad really wanted that chili dog and one does not argue with an 80 year old about their treats. Two cars back ordered some kind of ice cream dessert. We know this because they barely got their order in before one of the kids inside ran out to collect their payment and give them their food, and we figured we would be next as this car happily drove off within minutes of getting in line. Obviously this car held a friend of family member of the owner or workers because all the rest of the cars still just sat there. No one came by to check on us. No one came by to reassure us that they were working on our orders. We waited around 20 minutes for a chili dog that never came, and wound up going elsewhere for food. I don’t know what the issue was, nor do I care. If the staff are going to play favorites, as has been noted it other reviews regarding slow and poor service combined with suspicion of spit in the food, then the owner needs to be on site to keep these people busy. At the very least let the rest of us know why we are waiting so long for food we all know is not being cooked to order. Had that other car not been served ahead of the rest of us, I would have just made a note about how unfortunate it is to wait for so long and left it at that. Note to the owner: Do yourself a favor and either run the place yourself, or hire someone who cares about your business. Clearly that was not the case the day we were there, and that is going to destroy your business by driving off all potential new customers. Your location has the potential to be a serious contender, but experiences similar to mine are only a small amount of the bad press and reviews regarding your business. Think about it, people who write a bad review will also offer exponentially more poor verbal reviews to everyone they meet who mentions your business. Rather than hash this out or argue, I am offering you the chance to fix the problem. I live close enough to swing by and give a second chance, but it will not be a planned trip, and will NOT be for the purposes of collecting free food. If the problem is fixed, I will certainly make note of it and make changes to your rating accordingly. I genuinely care about your business, and would like to bring my father back when he visits...
