Catering buyers beware - we placed an order for nearly $400 in catered food for a group of 18. The Mexican package + churros. We ordered 3/4 steak and shrimp and 1/4 chicken and steak. We received two over stuffed half size pans of rice, one full half size pan of beans, 1 half size pan of fajita veggies and an assortment of toppings. The meat servings were ridiculously small. 1/4 size pans that weren’t even half full. 18 orders of half steak just barely hit the halfway mark. They sent 4 shrimp per order and when we called to complain when receiving the order, said we should be happy they gave us FOUR extra shrimp. They provided one small “scoop” of chicken and steak per order. The chicken looked weird and was very dry even though it obviously had sauce on it at some point. This is not Mexican fiesta rather a Mexican rice bowl with a tiny bit of meat. We had to pay extra for tortillas. We ended up having someone literally count out the shrimp to ensure no one took ONE too many. The rice was almost mush on top it had apparently cooked and sat so long. The churros were smaller or about the size of a ping pong ball and were $1.50 each. They had filling so I guess it makes up for it but the picture when you order shows a bowl of churros. It was disingenuous advertising. Nobody was getting full or even satisfied on that dessert. I called and emailed the entire day trying to confirm the order. Even had others call in case something was wrong with my phone. The phone kept saying call busy. Nobody responded to the emails. We finally got one call through an hour before our delivery was due and confirmed the order, delivery time and our request to send extra plates and silverware. We had barely enough small paper trays to serve food and each single churro, ran out of napkins even limiting to two person and had NO serving spoons for anything. We ended up borrowing from the hotel. When we called to complain the gal who answered didn’t speak English at all. She said to the person in our group who spoke fluent Spanish pretty much tough, she didn’t care about our complaints and didn’t care we didn’t have anything to serve food with nor enough plates and forks to eat it on. To reach her we had to have their driver call because again their phone didn’t ring. Deceptive advertising, very poor support for the catering order, crazy they can’t answer their phone AND the order was 45 minutes late. If you can’t handle catering business with SEVEN hours notice don’t take catering orders. Our group travels the country and does catering orders everywhere. This is the worst business and catering experience we’ve ever had in two years. We return to Orlando in June with triple the size group and for a few weeks. We definitely will NOT be ordering from here or stopping in. So many Orlando options; this was sad for what amounted to $23 per person for less then we’d have gotten...

Can't decide what to eat? Try a fusion of flavors at Orlando's Mexican Camel. This cute little spot offers a mix of Mediterranean and Mexican food that are sure to create a party in your mouth. The bold flavors from both cultures blend really well, and these guys are here to show the world that "flavors have no rules."
The Mexican camel offers build-your-own bowls, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tostadas, pitas, churros, and so much more. They have an array of fresh toppings and fillers to choose from, which can be a little overwhelming, but they have signature fusion creations you can order or use as a guide when creating your own. These guys put a lot of thought into their business, as there is something on the menu for everyone such as vegan options, dairy-free, gluten-free, and Halal.
We each created our own bowl with items we love from both cuisines, and both were flavor-packed. There really is no limit to what you can create. We mixed ingredients that we never thought would compliment eachother, but it all worked, and they have amazing homemade sauces to tie it all together... yum. Our favorite meat was the Spicy Barbacoa, and the sauce we liked the most was the Green Camel Sauce.
We also had the Mexdilla: grilled flour tortilla, queso supremo, carne asada, Grilled fajitas, roasted corn, and fresh pineapple. It was served with a side of fresh salsa and green camel sauce. Their take on the classic quesadilla was delicious, and we wanted to put on a sombrero, grab some maracas and dance along with the camel. Fiesta in our mouths and all around! We definitely recommend this big boy. 🧀
Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Be brave, be bold, and create your own fiesta... you won't be disappointed.

Read moreThe Mexican Camel is a cute Mexican joint in Orlando that serves fusion Greek/Mexican food. There is lots of space on the inside to sit and eat peacefully. The service and ambiance are good. The servers were super nice and once I said I do Google reviews they gave me a free drink, so make sure to help The Mexican Camel by dropping a review for their kindness! There is an option to get a bowl which was very similar to Chipotle, but with more Greek options for toppings like Kalamata olives, etc. I got the Mexdilla and it was actually very tasty. There was a lot of meat and a lot of crispy quesadilla with 2 sauces, a sour cream and another creamy savory sauce which I really enjoyed. The food comes out very fast as they start working on your dish as soon as they take your order. The problem I had with the Mexdilla was that sometimes the meat wasn’t very distributed very well. Sometime bites would have too much meat and some other bites would be just tortilla, but both the tortilla and meat were very good. All meats I tried were incredibly tender my favorite being the pulled beef! Then I tried my drink which was one of their 3 unique agua frescas. The watermelon basil lime agua fresca was ok in my opinion. It did taste fresh, but it had too much seasoning and not enough sweetness to be a fresca. However, if those kinds of your drinks are your thing go ahead and get all the frescas because they are a somewhat acquired taste. Don’t get me wrong they were all refreshing and had lots of flavor! OVERALL I would definitely recommend The Mexican Camel to others for its unique Greek/Mexican fusion and for their wonderful...
