The other day, I decided to give Breadbox a try and was left both disappointed and unsatisfied. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich but asked for chicken instead of ham. Imagine my surprise when the bill came out to over $17 for a sandwich in a menu where prices ranged between $11 to $12. When I asked about the unexpected charge, the manager was unable to produce a receipt, an issue that my boyfriend, with prior POS system experience, found quite odd. Her justification was that chicken costs more and is provided in a bigger portion than ham. However, the chicken I received was minimal, and the sandwich was nowhere near filling. The presentation of the chicken was also unappetizing to say the least (see photo for reference). Rather than addressing the problem directly, the manager offered a side of french fries as a make-good gesture for the upcharge. A refund, or at the very least a proper receipt, would have been a more appropriate response. However, it wasn't all negative. A ray of light in this experience was Sam. Not only did he provide excellent service by assisting me with the restaurant's app, but he also maintained a cheerful demeanor even when another staff member (perhaps an assistant manager) rudely instructed him to “go back to work/his spot" in the midst of him helping me. Sam's dedication to customer service was commendable and he deserves recognition for his efforts. In conclusion, while the food tasted good, the portions were laughably small for the price, and the management's approach to customer service was severely lacking. If there's any takeaway from this, it's that Breadbox could greatly benefit from hiring and valuing more employees like Sam. Sadly, based on this experience, I won't be returning, and I'd advise friends to consider other options as well.

Bread Box is located kind of in the land of misfit and forgotten toys of Universal Citywalk. Haha. If you see a wide set of stairs, tiers going up with strung lights, you’re headed the right away. It’s tucked up in the corner just before the food court with Moe’s, Burger King and company, and in the same courtyard as the Hart and Huntington Tattoo shop, a fro-yo place, and certainly most memorable, behind Voodoo donuts. Well, bread box serves none other than… sandwiches! Made with bread! Amazing, right? They do have a good variety of flavors considering their main entree is the sandwich, however. There’s also multiple kinds of bread to choose from. I got a ham and cheese with a peach jam inside. Surprised as I was, it was pretty darn good. The sweet of the peach jam actually offset the savory ham and cheese really really well. It’s not a combo I would ever have thought of, but I may have to now! The store itself I absolutely loved. It was decorated in a clever way for a placed named the Bread Box, and we even sat at swinging chairs for our table. My good conscience couldn’t quite give this 5 stars because of how weird (in a bad way) our service was. The cashier woman was clearly new at the job and was struggling, which is easily forgivable. That changes, however, when you are rude about your inability to adjust on the fly. Not cool, man. But yeah if you’re looking for a fairly simple meal close to the Universal Parks but not inside, consult your map for BreadBox!

The first time we attempted to eat at the bread box, the line was out the door. The second time, we arrived right after they closed. Some other people walked up and they got their food because they, smartly, ordered their sandwiches on the app! Brilliant! We finally got to eat here for lunch our last day. Lunchtime is definitely less crowded. If you plan to eat here in the evening, just order ahead as you walk out of the Theme Park and your food will be ready when you arrive. The breadbox is one of the best restaurants in Universal City Walk. Fresh sandwiches, tasty and filling sides. We were so thankful it was on the meal plan. If you like slaw, be sure to try it at the breadbox. It’s delicious. The hot sandwiches are ooey gooey satisfaction. Restaurant is impeccably clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. This is a latex free restaurant. Yay! Thank You, Bread Box🥳

I had high hopes for this restaurant. The sandwich line up had me flipping a coin to pick between all of the great sounding options. We also were happy to see only three other parties in the entire restaurant besides us. My husband and I decided on the brisket and tots and the Nashville with fries. We waited a long time, though there was only one guest in front of us. The wait was due to them checking on an allergy for the guests before us. And on one hand, we appreciate the thorough care with an allergy, but we stood behind and watched as three separate people helped, which we felt we could have had our order at least taken while that was sorted out since it took a while to make. It did take a long time for our food, and we noticed a few employees standing out in the dining room talking quite loudly, which is fine to an extent, but because we were so hungry and already waited a while, it was a little frustrating. When the food came, the first bite was great. The next few and last bites were not quite as good.. the brisket sandwich was dry and didn't have any BBQ sauce on it. The Nashville was good, and my husband enjoyed it, but the fires were standard theme park fries. Be careful, because the sides that are offered are an upcharge. Since we were asked "fries, tots, or coleslaw" we assumed it was what came with the sandwiches, but you can just say no. Our meal cost about $48 for two sandwiches, two sides and two drinks and a brownie which was more than we wanted to spend on lunch in the middle of the day. The amount of food didn't match the price for us. And the brownie, which was labeled double chocolate chunk brownie was actually just a piece of fudge that wasn't very good. No fudge in the title at all, so that was extremely disappointing and we didn't finish it. I will admit that I do wish to try a few of their other sandwiches, but I will think twice about this location unless it's a choice between this and the surrounding restaurants. I prefer this to say the burger king, Moe's and panda express next to it, but I will say that after craving it and planning for it on our trip, I wasn't as excited when I left. They have the potential to be fantastic if maybe sauce was provided on the side and if there was an eagerness to get through the line knowing it will take a while for it to be prepared. But as it stands, we thought $48, leaving not full, and a little over an hour total was too much for just a quick lunch, with hardly any other customers, and we had to replan the rest of our day. I cannot reiterate enough how much I love the idea of this restaurant- a sandwich shop with great options to suit all needs, including a vegan option that looks really good! I hope to have a better experience the next time we try it. Good enough to give it a second try, but not so good that I would consider trying to find a different...

Wife and I are passholders and try different restaurants at park each time we visit. We know BurgerKing next door and tried Bread Box 704. Seemed clean upon walking in. Kinda industrial bland inside design 2 people eating, and was resistor for Universal employees to sit in air conditioning and drink water , scanni g on cellphones. We ordered Chicken Salad sand.w coleslaw,Patty Melt with Tator tots . 1 Coke. Nearly 43.00 ok Now while waiting nd seated across from kitchen entry,I noticed a female employee taking a tray to other guests she was walking with pronounced limp Not a handicap, but a large clump of something stuck to bottom 1/2 of one shoe. She walked to guest table with the exaggerated high foot lift served the sandwiches and back to front counter. At this point she stopped leaned on counter as other guest were ordering grabbed a handful of napkins with bare hands all the while and pulled the mass of whatever off the bottom of her shoe, threw the napkins away and grabbed more using a brushing action swatting any lingering debris off her shoe to the floor. Then cleaned up the floor drops with same napkin, threw it out, only to go immediately to register area take order from incoming patrons fill their soda cups with drink. We were still waiting for our food. Luckily our food deliverer was not this lady. The server that delivered our food was notified of this event. Not much of response. Now the food we received was OK except for Cole slaw which was God awful tasting, I did complaint to no avail and the response was oh we get that all the time. Training and glove use would be advised. This...
