It is unfortunate that this is one of the only tire centers in Oxford, MS. I have never felt compelled to leave a review before now.
I have never had issues with tire wear before coming here. In April of 2023, I caught a flat tire- nothing unusual there. I got my back tires replaced and they told me to go get an alignment somewhere else so I did but never kept the receipt. I didn’t keep it because I was not expecting to come back less than a year later in January with 2 more bald back tires.
They again replaced my 2 back tires on January 31, 2024 and told me again to get an alignment. Ray Brothers in Oxford was able to do my alignment on February 2, 2024 and I kept the receipt this time.
I came in today, July 1, 2024, with the same bald rear tires. When they again told me it was an alignment issue, I was able to show them where I had it aligned less than 3 days after I bought tires from them. They then told me that there is no warranty on the tires since they didn’t have the machinery to do the alignment themselves and I would have to buy a third set of tires full price in less than a 1.5 year span of time.
I highly recommend GoodYear- they are putting new tires on my car and said they would honor any other mechanics alignments for their tire warranty. I have never had any tire issues before coming to Gateway and personally will not be doing business here again. I also highly discourage anyone else from doing business here if you don’t want to spend thousands of dollars...

Went to them a few years ago to put on new wheels + tires and they ended up charging more then what they quoted. And the guy tried to keep my old wheels, I had to ask where they were "oh, didn't think you wanted them" and the pulls them out of his truck bed. Why wouldn't I want the stock wheels on my new truck, they are probably worth $1500.
Had a slow leak in my tire last week and was quoted $22 over the phone. Which is fine, seems like what everyone charges in town here, even though where I'm from (Nashville) they have places like discounttire that fix those for free. Ended up waiting about 2 hours (didn't mind, I had work to do on my laptop) and they didn't charge me anything.
Even overheard some conversations, like the counter worker first telling a lady the budget tires in her size were sold out and they only had premier tires instead of just trying to sell her the premier tires.
Not sure what happened with this place. Seems like they flipped the script 180 for the better. You don't see too many upfront people in auto repairs.
Then again judging by how busy they are, I think they can be upfront and still make money haha. Well, good for them.
Would definitely recommend the place, and would recommend dropping off, they...
Read moreAlright....you can be good, fast, or cheap. Sometimes you can be two, but it's tough to be all three, all the time. In fact it's not really possible.
So I will say, in a rare five star moment of honesty, this is not the FASTEST place in town for probably anything other than free popcorn.
However, they are very fairly priced, they will get you in without an appointment, they will give you their best good estimate of how long a repair takes then work hard to get it done right. If it takes longer, as mine did due to some unexpected repairs, they will keep you informed and acted like they truly felt bad for my inconvenience (it wasn't, I had planned all day and took far less than half of the day).
Bottom line is if you want the cheapest job in town go to WalMart, if you want the fastest non-tire work, go to Dipstix. And if you want to be able to get everything those guys can do and more, in a bigger more comfortable waiting room that lets you bring your dog and stands behind their work and the customer experience, go...
