this was one of the absolute worst eating experiences i’ve ever had in oxford. everything i had was just absolutely terrible. it was almost $6 for two drinks and then $15 a piece for the buffet. the chow mein was gross, the orange chicken was just crust (no chicken in it at all), and i couldn’t finish my plate at all. we then went to the dessert buffett hoping it would be better, spoiler alert, it wasn’t. the only highlight of what i tried at the dessert buffett was the banana pudding. the jello was hard somehow??? and it was hot???? also there must be no air conditioning in that building because i was so hot and miserable while eating my already miserable food. there was no music playing and the only entertainment was a 1” x 2” tv playing women’s volleyball. there was also a waiter standing over a man just staring at him while he was eating his food, it was a weird sight to watch. safe to say i will never...
Read moreIf you go, make sure you do not have the waitress names Yuki (the tall one with the big forehead). She is rude, inconsiderate, and format care whether you are enjoying your meal or not. I have eaten here probably once a week and now I make sure I do not have her as a waitress. She, for some odd reason, has a problem with me since I left a $1 tip for lunch in may of 2015 (my bill was $7, do that is the normal amount to tip). First of all, she hovered over me each time I signed my bill, I am guessing in spite of trying to force to me give her a better tip. Just the other day I was there and she was sweeping the floors, while I was minding my own business sitting there and she just starts sweeping under the table and hitting me with the broom. I told the manager and he told me he would take care of it. I hope she gets fired. Their business would be a lot better atmosphere-wise...
Read moreI've been here over a dozen times over the past year, and I cannot say I haven't been satisfied with my meal after I have left. Be warned, this is a chinese buffet, but in terms of Chinese buffets, especially in the North Mississippi area, this is a stand out. Ranging from sesame chicken, to beef and broccoli, and to the excellent sushi buffet, Chow King serves a wide variety of foods for people of all ages. They have a small station of fried foods and kid friendly choices, like cheese pizza and wings, they accommodate. Kids eat cheaper by a fair margin as well, making eating to your heart's content, with your children, far easier for you and your wallet. The only issue with the place is that it's waiters don't seem to care, and will give you a look if you choose not to tip a whole lot. It tears a way a bit from the experience, but don't let that stop you...
