My family has gone to Fuji numerous times over the years and we have always had a great experience. I decided to have my birthday dinner at Fuji last night since it's been a while. Last night was the first time we have ever left completely disappointed. This visit just didn't measure up to all the times before. For starters, since this was a family birthday celebration, we were not thrilled about being seated at a table where three other people were already seated. Our server was very friendly and attentive, but it went downhill from there. Not sure if our chef is new or what the problem was. He had no personality at all, he never talked with us, and was just not as engaging as prior chefs we had. There was nothing special at all about his performance. As he kept adding food to the grill we kept noticing how small the piles of noodles, vegetables, and rice were. We kept wondering how he was going to divide it up between seven people. As it turned out, the portions were way smaller than usual and unevenly distributed. We didn't receive the two pieces of shrimp we usually always receive. My daughter and I ordered sesame chicken, while my husband and son ordered teriyaki chicken. When all was said and done, all four of us ended up getting teriyaki chicken. When I pointed out that two of us were supposed to have sesame chicken he said something back that I couldn't understand, and he made no offer to add sesame seeds to our chicken We love Fuji, but this visit was terrible - $80+ worth of terrible. Hopefully next time we'll receive the great food and show we have come to...

If a restaurant is going to mandate 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more they need to ensure their wait staff does their job and does not rest on “Automatic tip” because it is a party of 6 or more. We had 7 in our party. The waitress, Elayna, took our order but never came back to check on us, we had to flag her down to remind her we needed extra napkins, she brought 1 extra napkin for each of us. We needed a knife to cut the large pieces of meat, we flagged the waitress down twice to ask for a knife and never got a knife. We flagged the hostess down and asked her for a knife and drink refills still no response. We again flagged down the waitress for drink refills and she came back with attitude and poured tea into the glasses that had watered down tea from melted ice. I ordered white rice for my meal, they gave me fried rice…they brought the white rice as we were leaving. We asked to have the 18% gratuity reduced because the waitress did not provide any service, I was told they couldn’t reduce the gratuity because we had a party of more than six. I let the staff know we would not return. Again, horrible service, food was decent but was skimpy on the vegetables. I believe in tipping and always tip at least 20% and sometimes more so I am not a patron that doesn’t tip. I understand that here they split the “tip” between the cook and wait staff but their tips need to be separate. Don’t mandate tips for STAFF THAT DOES NOT DO THEIR JOB!!!!! HORRIBLE...

I’ve been going here 20 years but a lot less as the years go on. Tonight is it. Won’t be yelled at by a manager and told something that just wasn’t true. I knew not to try them to get the steak correct but that was on me. It was rare then well done. Tried to get it in the middle at some spectrum but nope. What made it bad was the manager yelling at me in the restaurant with my old food that should have been discarded saying “which one do you want?!!!” Well first gross. That first one I sent back 10 minutes ago that was sitting God knows where should have been discarded. Hope nobody else got it but if you did you better eat every damn bite or she will not love you long time. I told her neither one was the temperature (cooking steak isn’t that hard) but she was not wrong and it was my fault and said im no longer allowed to order that because “I do that all the time”. Well no first of all I haven’t been coming there much anymore and when I do I order chicken or something small because I know they are incompetent on steak. Why ask for the temperature if you get raw or jerky style? I give service 5 stars ONLY because the girl that waits on us all the time is absolutely great and I apologize. Only to her though. Oh well I’m on Fuji probation now I guess. I’m so so so upset about it. I guess they won’t be able to afford to turn the AC on this month again because of the cost of my returns....

While visiting Anniston, Alabama, I dined at two Japanese restaurants. On my first night, I ate at Yume across the street, and it was an excellent experience. The next night, I decided to try something different and chose Fuji Japanese Cuisine. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The atmosphere and service at Fuji were good, but the food fell short. My miso soup was lukewarm and had a slight off-putting smell, so I couldn’t finish it. The salad, however, was fresh and enjoyable. My main entrée—salmon from the Teppan Yaki dinner menu—was a letdown. It had a slight seafood smell, not overpowering but noticeable, and wasn’t cooked to perfection, which affected the taste. Had I not dined at Yume the night before, I might have rated Fuji a bit higher, but the comparison was stark. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t return.

Fuji Japanese Cuisine was not only AMAZING but so completely fun for both our kids my husband and I. I wish we would have gotten the name of the very amazing, talented chef who cooked for us and sweet attentive wait staff. My kids went from watching their phones to looking up in amazement with huge wide eyes and smiles😍 Just blown away with the chef. We never have we ever had that awesome of an experience out to eat with our kids. One our kids is always unhappy or both just want to go home. Thank you so much to the chef and staff for being so wonderful and kid friendly😍 Best family outing/date night😍

First let me say that the servers were super friendly. Even if they were not you server they still helped you and smiled. We just went to order the sushi, so this is all I can rate. The menu was beyond complex to read. I think it could have been a lot simpler. I couldn't figure out what to order on which page to order it from. The sushi was ok. If you liked you sushi with all the contents pureed together then you will like it. It was like eating baby food with rice. Because everything was pureed you couldn't tell which roll was which. All and all I would probably pass on coming back.
