IHOP — Restaurant in Oxford

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have given this ihop so many chances to redeem themself after my first bad experience and they have yet to do so. Every time I’ve gone there has only been around 4 or 5 other tables to tend to, and the service is still somehow terrible. The first time I went, my friend and I were one of TWO tables at the establishment, and the food took an hour to get out. When we were eating, some staff members were screaming at each other arguing which in itself was incredibly unprofessional. The manager came out to apologize to us and literally told us all of the personal business that the staff members were arguing over, which was takeout incredibly unprofessional. The second time, my boyfriend and I went, and our waitress seemed inconvenienced by us and did not come back to take our order. We had to ask another nearby waitress to take our order because we had already been there for 45 minutes waiting on our waters, and when our server came back, she looked annoyed that we were requesting to order, only for our food to take an additional 1.5 hours to come out, COLD. The third and final time I visited this ihop this morning, my boyfriend and I were sat down, everything seemed great. Our server was attentive and polite, but the food took way too long to come out when there were not a lot of other tables to tend to, which is at no fault to the waitress. However, I guess she was worried we wouldn’t tip well since our food took so long, so she sat there awkwardly and watched my boyfriend write down the tip amount, which was super uncomfortable. Went to have my birthday breakfast at the IHOP in Oxford, MS. Got there around 11am. Found a line of people going out the door. Once we made it to the hostess station, it was evident there was no hostess on duty. One server would put people on a list to be seated and then another would come and just take the closest people to the hostess station. Only about 75% of the tables were filled. Once we were seated about 11:10am, we ordered our drinks and asked for a few minutes to look at the menu. We received our drinks and placed our order around 11:20. About ten minutes later, we ordered a gingerbread hot chocolate. At 12:40, after seeing people come in, be seated, eat, and leave we still had not received our food. We were told that our ticket had been thrown out by someone in the kitchen. They were supposedly prioritizing our order to get it to us as soon as possible. 15 minutes later, we had still only received a glass of milk and a glass of water. I finally went up to our server, who was talking to a man that turned out to be the manager, and told her we wanted the check for the drinks because we were leaving. The manager asked if this was the table she had been telling him about and she replied that this was another table - the one who had not gotten their food yet. He was surprised that we still had not gotten our food and told us they would not charge us for the drinks. We left to get lunch at another restaurant since we still had not eaten. This place needs to shut down if they can't do any better than what they were doing this weekend!!! My husband and I placed a online order to pick up, we ended up having to wait almost 2 hours!!!! This is ridiculous and they outta be ashamed doing people the way they do them! There were 2 young girls running around in the front turning people away telling people their food would be up in not long knowing it was going to be hours of waiting!!! I saw the manager leave, she didn't care at all they were so backed up and only had one cook which shouldn't matter I mean one of the girls up front said that all the orders were all over the place and they were just throwing orders in bags, I mean goodness if you can't do any better than that, I think you need to just close down!!! My husbands burger and fries had been made for a hour before my pancakes, eggs, bacon and hash browns were ever started so his was cold and my pancakes were burnt!!! I've never seen any establishment ran the way they do at the IHOP here in Oxford Mississippi it's terrible!!!! I've worked in the fast food business, I've worked with the public my whole life and I have never ever seen anything like what was going on this weekend there!!! If you know it's a ball game weekend and you don't order enough food or have enough staff to work then CLOSE the restaurant up for everyone's sake!!!!
