UPDATE: I went back for my second visit and tried some different items. The Good- I got a Frozen Custard Key Lime Concrete, it was very good! It was rich & creamy. The California style double cheeseburger was good, better than Steak & Shake. The onion rings were really good, definitely worth getting. Other members of my party tried patty melts, they liked them, but weren't blown away by them. The Bad: I don't like shoestring fries and theirs didn't change my mind. The cheese curds were better this time, but still the least favorite cheese curds I've ever had. The price.... Way too much for what you get.
In Summary- The double cheeseburger was better than Steak & Shake, but I can't justify paying twice as much for it, especially when Just Hamburgers is a 10th of a mile away from both of them. Their spicy chicken sandwich may be the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. Their onion rings and concrete custards are worth getting again. The cost-to-portion size-to-quality ratio is off. I will be back, but not often simply because of the cost. When you spend $50 in Paducah, KY at a fast food place, it's because you fed 6-8 people, not 3 like I did. I will keep the 4 star rating, but it's barely a 4 star. If it weren't for the quality of the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and the Custard, it would be a 3 star.
(As requested, I will also contact corporate with my comments) Original Review Below: I thought the price was too high and when I saw how small the portions were I was very disappointed. I ordered Regular Cheese Curds and a Spicy Chicken Sandwich. The cheese curds were a little on the soggy side and the flavor was, meh... Culver's and A&W have better cheese curds. The Spicy Chicken sandwich looked about the size of a value chicken from Wendy's and it wasn't spicy at all.... At this point, if you're still with me, you're probably wondering why I gave them 4 stars... Because as chicken sandwiches go, that was a really good chicken sandwich! It blows Popeye's out of the water and I'd have to do a side by side comparison with a regular Chick-fil-A sandwich to determine a winner (since it wasn't spicy I wouldn't put it up against their spicy chicken)... The short version. I won't get the cheese curds again. I will try their steak burgers and custard. I will have another chicken sandwich, but I won't be back very frequently because...
Read moreStopped in Freddie's right as it opened 10:30 am. Went to the restroom first. I noticed then the trash was full. Ordered. The cashier was very friendly. I got my pepsi from the drink machine and this machine is nasty!! Food crumbs in the over flow and what looked like mold or just something growing on the base of it. The lids were almost out to. Picked up my food. I asked for fry sauce and a fork. She said the fry sauce is right there forks are over there. Across the room by the drink machine. BUT she was standing 6 inches from the whole stack of forks etc, the same type bin as across the store. I reached around d and took one from there. The fry sauce...the bin had sauce all over the top and squeezed out from the base of the pump on top. It was dried and globs. It was from the night before. I was second customer in the store. When I got my fry sauce out a huge glob of dried sauce first came out in my cup. The food was delicious, hot and plenty of it. The store was pretty dirty. Floors had food in them, tables greasy like hadn't been wiped. The pepsi machine the bathroom etc. Really dirty. O had cheese fries and the French...
Read moreFirst and last time I will ever eat there. The food was way overpriced for the quality of the food and service was straight terrible. First off the establishment was extremely dirty. I explained to the staff the Dr Pepper didn’t taste right and it’s like they didn’t care. So when I decided to order shakes since the soda wasn’t drinkable I told them that’s why I was ordering them and they didn’t care at all. They didn’t offer any type of compensation or anything. The shakes are small for the price: I paid over $15 for two medium chocolate shakes and one large chocolate shake. The fries were over cooked and way over salted. I might as well of dumped a packet of salt in my mouth. I stood their waiting quite while waiting for the shakes while two employees were busy flirting with each other or whatever instead of working. The female employee that was talking to other employee was drinking a McDonald’s slushy right in the kitchen area where food is prepared. I only saw two employees working which they were busting their butts trying to prepare orders while the others were just...
