The "Brussels Sprouts Caesar Salad" did not come with any brussels sprouts... Also, one of the brussels sprouts in the side that we ordered had gone bad. Our waitress told us that internally what we ordered was changed to a classic caesar salad, but obviously this change was not reflected on the menu and apparently neither of our two servers even knew about it. The waiter who brought out our food even said that the brussels sprouts were there despite it being all romaine lettuce (not his fault though of course).
The manager (presumably) was very nice and took both of these orders off of the bill, but this was not communicated to us until we were getting ready to leave, hence my rating. We spent the entire meal thinking that the staff weren't going to do anything to make things right and the person in our party who ordered the no brussels sprouts caesar salad got very angry with our waitress as a result.
The mishap with the order obviously wasn't our waitress's fault, but her communication here was severely lacking (and she gave us a little bit of attitude after the altercation too). All you have to do as a server in this kind of situation is communicate to the customer right away that the restaurant would make things right instead of leaving the customer in the dark and there wouldn't have been an issue. We would've been willing to still pay for the salad / side if things were properly communicated to us.
(Also, we had to wait nearly 40 minutes...
Read moreWe found this locally owned gem that apparently been open for less than a month and man o’ man, they are rocking it already. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. My nephew has certain allergies and they were willing swap the cooking oil on the fried rice from sesame to just soy.
We found out that the menu we saw wasn’t even the finished menu because they’re still in a roll out phase. It still had a nice variety at this stage. I ordered the Navajo burger and the menu had no description, but it was pretty much what you expect (a burger with traditional toppings of lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickle) served on fry bread instead of a bun… there was one surprise though. This burger was enormous. You’d think they would have just made smaller fry bread and just use that as a bun substitute, no no no. The fry bread was the usual dinner plate size cut in half and it had two full size burger patties. It’s basically two burgers in one! The chili was delicious with excellent flavor development. Oddly enough though, the best bite of the meal was probably the chicken tenders. The portion and tender size were very large. The coating was perfectly fried and cooked to perfection. They were crispy, moist, and plentiful enough to feed my niece and share a good amount with the rest of the table.
Overall this is a very promising start to a restaurant that will hopefully be around for...

We stopped by Rustic Thistle for breakfast and—wow—I’m still dreaming about the food. Between me and my breakfast crew (a.k.a. the chaos squad: two small kids and some adults), we tried the French toast, fresh fruit, burrito, and omelette. I didn’t eat it all myself (though I definitely considered it)… but everything was chef’s kiss. Seriously, the flavor and presentation were on point, and the portion sizes were just right—not too much, not too skimpy. Goldilocks would be proud.
The service was super friendly and kind, though it felt a little slow… but that might be because wrangling toddlers makes 3 minutes feel like 30. No fault of theirs—just the parenting time warp.
The vibe is cozy and casual with a classic diner feel. Perfect for a laid-back morning that starts with caffeine and ends with a happy food coma. Prices weren’t bad either—especially for the quality. I’d say it’s absolutely worth it.
Would I recommend Rustic Thistle? 100%. Go hungry, and maybe leave the kids at home if you want to truly savor every bite...
