Nothing Bundt Cakes — Restaurant in Palm Desert

I was visiting in Rancho Mirage California and went to this Palm Desert Bundt cake location on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Extremely disappointed. Poorly managed. I was visiting from Illinois and went in to purchase either an 8 or 10 inch cake. We were waited on by a young man who was coughing and constantly brushing his hair off his face. He should have been wearing a mask. He said a chocolate chocolate chip cake was available. He told me to have it decorated it would be anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. We then asked if we could just purchase the cake and decorations and do it ourselves to avoid the wait. He asked someone in the back and they replied yes.He comes out with the cake wrapped in Saran Wrap and I said I didn’t want plastic wrap on a cake. I wanted the cake in the usual cellophane wrapper or a box. The woman next to him, replied that will be an hour wait. I replied just for a box or cellophane, she replied Yes. With that I left the store. Stay away from this place. I am a frequent customer of several nothing Bundt cakes in Illinois and Indiana and was NEVER given a cake wrapped in plastic wrap. The young man should have been wearing gloves, a hat, or have his hair pulled back, plus a mask.A one hour wait to have cake put in a box, is absurd. Corporate needs to check on this store. Don’t waste your money at...

So I opened my mailbox yesterday and got a flyer for a free bundt cake, which is pretty rad in of itself. I cruised over to the shopping center addressed on the flyer today and immediately enjoyed the coincidence Nothing Bundt Cakes shares with its neighbors - a dentists office and a fitness center. I went inside and addressed this with the staff and it doesn't seem accidental at all, there's plans for customer retention deals between the businesses.

The little shop is a franchise, so it has an owner and they get to specialize in some of the nice trinkets and cake accessories. The decorations make the shop bright and welcoming. Overall, a fun atmosphere.

All of that aside, and after a good chuckle, Lauren helped show me around the quaint little shop and I sampled the carrot cake - and immediately knew this place was selling the real deal. They offer what seems like a dozen varieties and in several different sizes. Besides my free Red Velvet cake, I bought the sampler which is $18 and looks like the perfect dessert to bring to a get-together. Super friendly staff, great location, and some really moist and delicious varieties of bundt cake; I hope you go and enjoy Nothing Bundt Cakes as...

Never been here before until today. It was busy and wouldn't have minded waiting..... the cashier asked what I wanted while the other customer was still deciding at his register. I asked for a red velvet.The small cakes on bottom shelf was all I saw so I thought thats what I was getting. But NO,He never asked what size and gave me a small mini one for like 1 person when this was for a small party of 5. When I got home I opened and realized it was the wrong size and didn't have time to go back.I called and spoke to mgr which I felt she just wanted to discuss the sizes and not make it right!? The guy that helped me should have asked what size I wanted! Bottom line.Like I said, I've never been there before and won't recommend. Poor...
