Honest Review of My Last Visit to This Peruvian Restaurant:
Yesterday, I decided to share one of my favorite experiences with my family: enjoying Peruvian food. To me, it’s one of the most flavorful and rich cuisines in the world, and this time was no exception: the food was excellent. The flavors were authentic, well-prepared, with generous portions and careful presentation. From a culinary perspective, it was an outstanding experience.
However, there were some technical details worth mentioning. Both the chicha morada and the passion fruit juice were excessively sweet and concentrated, to the point where the lemon flavor was barely noticeable. These are minor adjustments, yes, but they affect the overall balance of the meal.
The service during the ordering process was standard. We were treated properly, not especially warm, but certainly not rude either. Everything seemed to be going smoothly… until the end.
What happened at the end of the dinner completely changed my perception of the place. We had one dish left unfinished — we were already full — and, as usual, we asked to have it packed to go. That’s when something happened that honestly left me stunned: the waitress brought us the container and handed it to us at the table so that we could pack the food ourselves. There was no attempt to help, not even the slightest courtesy. The remaining sauces or condiments on the table weren’t offered either.
I’ve eaten in luxurious restaurants and also in the most humble ones, both in Peru and abroad, and this had never happened to me before. Even in the simplest places, that small but important gesture is respected: the customer should not be packing their own food at the table. And beyond any possible justification — such as avoiding spills or making things easier — the truth is that people go to a restaurant to enjoy the service and the overall experience, not to serve themselves as if they were in a self-service place. It’s simply in bad taste, and it breaks the essence of what dining out should feel like.
To me, this wasn’t just unprofessional — it showed a complete disregard for the customer’s experience. I don’t know if the waitress was upset, if she was having a bad day, or if this is standard practice at the restaurant. But the truth is, this was my third visit… and it will also be my last.
A poorly handled detail — something so simple — can ruin everything that was built before. What was meant to be a special night with family ended with an uncomfortable, almost humiliating feeling, and a bitter aftertaste that had nothing to do with the food itself.
It’s a shame, because the quality of the food truly deserved service to match. I sincerely hope this is not a common practice and that no other customer goes through the same. Because if the human touch is missing — no matter how good the food is — the entire experience falls...

I recently dined at Peruvian Ceviche and Bar with a party of 11, including family and friends visiting from Switzerland, Germany, and Spain, and it was an incredible culinary experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with vibrant décor and a lively atmosphere that set the tone for a memorable evening.
We started with a variety of appetizers, including the classic causa, which was beautifully presented with layers of creamy mashed potatoes and a flavorful filling. It was a hit at the table and the perfect way to begin our meal. For my main dish, I enjoyed the ceviche con ají amarillo, which was a revelation. The fresh fish was marinated to perfection, and the ají amarillo sauce added a subtle heat and depth of flavor that everyone at the table raved about.
The service was outstanding, especially considering the size of our group and the diverse dietary preferences of our international guests. Our server managed everything seamlessly, ensuring that everyone’s orders arrived promptly and accurately. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations, which added to the experience.
Peruvian Ceviche and Bar impressed not only the locals but also our guests from Switzerland, Germany, and Spain, who remarked on the bold, authentic flavors and the high quality of the dishes. This is a fantastic spot for group dining or any special occasion. Highly...
Read moreI ordered the Lomo Saltado, a tropical tasting mix of perfectly ripe and flavorful tomato slices and onions over thick steak pieces with a side of rice and thick cut fries. It was delicious! In particular, the sauce on the steak had an amazing sweet, salty, and savory flavor that I'd never tasted before. It made the rice taste amazing as well. Just the right amount of sauce to last every bite.
The atmosphere was excellent as well. Even though it's right next to US1, a notoriously busy and noisy road, you can't hear a single car. It's incredibly quiet and the music was soft with a wistful and reflective tone. The volume was just at the perfect level to subtly create the mood without feeling the need to speak over it. Excellent spot for catching up with an old friend, having a frank conversation with a parent or partner, going on a date, or any kind of outing where you hope to have a meaningful conversation. Great friendly service from the waitress! For dessert, I ordered the flan and was not disappointed. A thick, rich and creamy texture with a dark and mature flavor. Every bite was a treat.
While a little bit on the pricier side for my usual dinner outings, it felt like incredible value as it was a far more enjoyable evening and meal than any dinner at a Fridays, Olive Garden, or...
