If you are like us, visiting the area and want to try some cuban food, don't go there. There are good places, so so places, and places, like this one, doing deceitful things. We ordered Mamey milkshake, which is very Cuban. This was a scam. None of us could detect even the slightest taste of Mamey. It was just a dense, condensed milk shake with cream on top (really, cream on top of mamey shake?). So this is already a scam. On top of that, several other dishes were really low quality. I ordered a "snapper" fish that was so bad I would have rather eaten tilapia somewhere else. I suspect this was some frozen fish brought from Vietnam or who knows where that was breaded and fried. It tasted real bad. The yucca frita had no salt, the tostones and fried maduros were not good either. The unfortunate thing is that we took our son's friend for her to try some Cuban food, what a disappointment. Finally, it is quite pricey. The standard we have encountered is that entree dishes come with two sides included, this is the first time it comes with...
Read moreA co-worker kept telling me about this place and I was like "Yeah-Yeah." I should have listened to her sooner! This place has Puerto Rican and Cuban dishes and they DO NOT disappoint! The meat pies are like empanadas and have great flavor. We had both beef and chicken. As I am a true carnivore, I liked the beef best. I had the roast pork and my wife had the skirt chicken! The sweet plantains were rockin! Try the trimofongo! YUM! Sadly, they were out of flanes so I will have to try to get there earlier next time. As we were leaving, the place became packed! So we ordered additional meals to go. Even tho I was stuffed, I couldn't wait to get home and dig into the food we brought home! Our waitress was patient and explained EVERYTHING to us! Extra points for that alone! I know exactly who to bring here next time we visit! I know this place is tucked into a little space but don't let appearances fool you! Keep this on your list of go-to places to eat...
Read moreSpending the week in PCB and delighted to have found a restaurant with Cuban and Puerto Rican food dishes. We ordered Ropa Vieja for both, hubby and I and a side of Arroz con Gandules, to go. 😍 Tostones (flat crispy green plantains) were delicious. Dip them in the Ropa Vieja sauce or other two sauces they provide and it was a heavenly bite. We enjoyed our meal by the PCB pier while watching the sun setting. Sat at a picnic table where 2 other ladies were sitting and were gracious to be okay with us sitting with them...and after some good talks...eventually asked "what were you all eating? It smells so good!" I proudly said "Oh, it is Cuban food we got from a place not far from the pier and told then the name!😊 Deliciously Caribbean flavor like the ones I grew up as a child! Will definitely come back for a Mofongo, before we return home to Georgia on...
