In short, we had a poor experience from start to finish. Although we've used ALS for several service issues over the last couple of years (and purchased multiple components) the experience, each time, was less than stellar.
The most recent experience involved the purchase of multiple hard drives for several systems. We waited for days for two of the hard drives, they finally came, but were wrong. ALS had the CPU there, but blamed us for not specifying what type of hard drive...even though they removed the old ones, had the unit on hand, and should have looked. So, we lost time - no apology, but a shift in responsibility.
Then, they were asked only to install the hard drives on some of the systems. They took it upon themselves to load software, and then charge us for it. They charged over $125 for formatting the new hard drives... which almost any user knows, windows does on its on. We were given a gruff, very off handed response about the 'way' they format...
We called about one of the systems 10 days after we got it back... it would not boot. Their admin person said we must have gotten a virus and there was nothing they would do about it. How does one definitively assess a computer virus over the phone? It is a BIOS issue, and not virus related. We were VERY frustrated, and just let it sit for a couple of weeks. So, when we finally called on the 33rd day about getting them to fix it under warranty - we were told the warranty expired at 30 days... even though they were notified about the problem 10 days after we bought it.
Most recently we called to get their email address; when our receptionist called, the lady asked who she was with - before giving her their email address. When our receptionist told her our company name - she hung up the phone, and now won t answer. They continue to let it ring to voice mail.
Very telling that they are a computer company, but have only two YAHOO reviews in the last 5 years... We've spoken to multiple other people who have said "STAY AWAY." There are plenty of good options in town, or simply send your units off. You ll certainly pay less, get more courteous service, hopefully actually get what...

I took my computer in twice to this company...after keeping it overnight, on my second visit, I was charged $85.00 for them only charging my computer and the owner telling me he would show me how to download a You Tube video as to how to charge my computer. I have had this computer for over 2 years and I know how to charge the computer. It was not holding a charge most of the time, finally after having the same problem after getting my computer back, I took it to a Reputable Computer Repair Person and they immediately discovered the problem. It was a loose connection in the Charging Block on the Charging Cord. They agreed with me that I had been Scammed by this company. I am a Condo Specialist at Edgewater Beach Resort and am neighbors with this business. I have shared this experience with my fellow workers and anybody that I can so that this does not happen to anyone...
Read moreI knew my laptop was having issues and was trying to move files to an external hard drive when I received a black screen and a message that the hard drive had failed and I should backup my files so I didn’t lose them. Not knowing how to do that with my laptop in that state, I carried my laptop with the external drive into ALS like a mother carrying a child into an ER. Shane said he could install a new solid state drive which would be better and faster and he could attempt to retrieve my files. The next day he called saying the drive was repaired. He also could see my profile but it was taking a long time to transfer for some reason. Since I was going to be out of town, I told him to take extra time if he thought it would help. He was able to save most of my files. Then after I had my laptop at home and was unable to project it to a monitor, he kindly helped me by phone identify and correct the issue.
