The room itself was fine, and location was nice. However, I will never stay here again because of extreme unprofessionalism from the hotel “security,” and poor customer service of front desk staff after I was accused of lying and was threatened to have the cops called on me over a simple misunderstanding regarding the pool. During my stay, my cousin and her handicapped boyfriend were visiting and we decided to go to the pool around 11pm. The hotel confirmation email that I had received prior to my stay clearly stated 24 hour pool access, so I was confused when the side gate to the pool wouldn’t open. As I was trying to figure out how to open the gate so that we could enter the pool area, a girl outside the far end of the pool area showed us that that gate was open and that we could enter through it. So we went in, sat our things down, and were getting into the pool when 2 “security” men approached us and told us to get out immediately. According to them, the pool closed at 10 pm, and when I explained that I read that it was 24 hour pool access, they replied, “no you did not,” and would not listen to or believe me. They also wanted to know how we got access into the pool area because they claimed they had locked it. When we explained that some girl showed us that the gate was open, they did not believe us and instead accused us of breaking the lock to get in. They were very angry and would not hear us out and, as we were gathering up our things and my cousin’s handicapped boyfriend was getting into his wheelchair and my cousin was trying to get her shoes on, the men again told us that we needed to get out immediately or they would call the cops on us. I took the issue to the front desk and explained everything and showed where the email had stated 24 hour pool access. She explained that they have been having a lot of issues with third party bookings, which is how I booked. She said “sorry bout that,” as if it was the tiniest of mistakes, but we did not get a true apology for how poorly we were treated by the men at the pool. The next morning I went back out to the pool area and confirmed that there were no pool hours posted anywhere. There also were no times listed on the website. I went back to the front desk and again explained the previous night’s situation, and all I was told was that “all pools close at that time,” with a dead stare from the front desk staff, as if they could care less that I was upset and that it was my fault for not knowing that the pool closed at 10, regardless of there being no signs with pool hours anywhere around the pool area. I never did get a sincere apology for the poor treatment we received by those 2 men or for their threatening to call the cops on us. I’m sorry this is so long but if you are considering this resort, I advise against it. There is better customer service literally...
Read moreThis place is called Bikini Beach Resort, but it definitely was not the resort experience. Let me first start of by saying vacationing in Florida during summer is high in demand so hotels take advantage of that plus recoup some COVID losses. However, if I knew this was the best I'd get with my money I budgeted for, I would've put a raincheck on a Florida Vacation. We originally booked with our travel agent for 3 nights through Expedia but, decide to add an extra night which was paid directly with Bikini Beach (more on that later). We found out when we arrived that the room we had for the first 3 nights was booked and unavailable the fourth night. Instead of them seeing if we wanted to keep the original room we had and just move, they took it upon themselves to downgrade our room to accommodate all four nights. This hotel is equivalent to being catfished by some date you met on a dating app. The pictures had this hotel looking nice and clean, but in person it's very outdated and dirty. The new room they gave us looked like a temporary setup to make it a room with two queen beds. The ocean view we wanted when we booked was blocked by a fence and hotel pool. Our travel agent spoke with the hotel manager Alisha Haggard the next day to voice our disapproval of the room we were in. Bikini Beach did manage to move us into another room, but the only positive was the ocean view we originally wanted. However, even more problems came with the second room. The room started to smell like a SEPTIC TANK or SEWER was right outside our door. When we made Alisha aware of the issue, she tried to do a good acting job pretending she was unaware of this problem. Well, housekeeping did a great job exposing her and made it clear that it definitely has be an ongoing issue. At this point we decided to not stay our fourth night and checkout the next day. What was communicated to us is that we would receive $100 refund from the Expedia transactions and the transaction for the fourth night we did directly with Bikini Beach would be cancelled and returned to the card. Well, a couple weeks later there was still no money returned from Bikini Beach and Alisha tries to claim it was all done through Expedia when clearly my bank statement shows the direct transaction FROM THEM. I had to put in a claim with my bank due to Bikini Beach and Alisha's bad business transactions. I still to this date have not receive the refund from them. So not only do they run a trash hotel, but I think they are crooks too. If you are ever thinking about vacating in Florida, DO NOT COME TO BIKINI BEACH RESORT!!! If you are on a budget either go Murtle Beach, Orange Beach or save your money until you can get a better hotel than this scam of a hotel. You'll be glad you...
Read moreAt first we booked a queen size ocean view. We were booked for room 109. When we checked in, the staff at night was pleasant. We walked to our room to find it off to the side, and what I see now as the run down part. Not only, upon entering, did the room smell like mold, but it was just not clean. The floors were dirty, the bathroom was filthy, and the walls had a red substance that resembled blood. Not pleased at all. I was shocked because a few years ago we stayed here and I gave it a 5 star rating on Google. I usually don't do that unless I was very impressed....which no one would be with this room. Went back to the front desk and told them our concerns. The lady that checked me in was very nice about changing our room. She offered rooms on a few other floors. I asked which floor would you suggest. She stated that she has never stepped foot into any of the rooms here, so she doesn't know, but hears good things about the 5th floor. Even though, I fell like a customer, who just experienced one of the worst rooms someone could ever offer, would be given a different room without having to pay the difference. Nope. Had to pay 22 dollars more to upgrade from a "Crack house" to an okay-ish room. Okay, 5th floor it is. We went into the elevator and it almost broke down, banged a bit, slowly made it's way back down to the ground level, then went back up. As I was riding to the 5th floor, I noticed the service paperwork stated it hasn't been serviced since 2023! Well, that was a bit scary. Finally made it to the 5th floor. The room didn't smell like mold so it had that going for it. There was a 2x4 hole in the wall next to the first queen bed. The bathroom had a discolored mat on the bottom. The door leading out to the balcony could use some cleaning and repainting because there was rust all over it. The safety latch on the front door was broken and coming out of the wall. I was not going to argue anymore about rooms because by this time, we just drove 6hrs and it was around 8pm. I will not be staying here again unless there is a revamp. I will also take this review and update my Google one from a few years ago. I have a picture of the hole, but I wish I took more of the other room so I could add it, the phone is in the picture just incase I was to be charged for damages, they can see what day and time it was. Completely...
