Was just here earlier for spring break and there was a 45minute wait only cuz NO OME WANTED TO SIT OUTSIDE CUZ OF THE CRAZY HIGH WINDS ALL DAY. NOT THEIR FAULT. I had the gator tacos which were delicious(except the mango salsa was too spicy for me personally, my friend and her mom was eating it up tho)! It was my first time having alligator. My friend said the Mahi Mahi was hard and her food was cold. Her mom had the grouper and my friend tasted it and said her's was good. SHE LIKED MY GATOR THE BEST Her sister had the shrimp and said it was good. My whole table KILLED the cheese curds and the marinara was surprisingly delicious to come from a package! They also were very hot! The Pina colada in an actual pineapple was also SOO GOOD! IT'S $17 BUT WE ALL drunk some and it's with the experience I know. This is probably the best value for your dollar for a group because u get a good amount for your buck.
The server was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu which I appreciate as a fellow server. Only two issues for me. One, they don't have restrooms in there so you have to walk around to the pier restrooms which are nasty. Second issue, the hostess came to us in the middle of us eating dinner and ask us can we move to another table because a group of white ppl wanted our table because they didn't wanna stand outside in the cold(we are black and Hispanic). Now the hostess seem like a sweet black girl and she did seem like uncomfortable asking us that because she did say something like" Can I ask u a favor? Do u mind moving over a table for this table of 8? These girls having been waiting over an hour for a table?" She also paused in between questioning so, I feel like she knows it was wrong and probably was trying to avoid conflict in the best way. But, as someone who currently works in a restaurant myself. I know it's wrong to ask someone to get up and move to another table just because someone wants that table. Especially when the restaurant is already small and doesn't even do reservations. It's first come...
Read moreUpdate: Came back to Hook’d on my return trip to Florida and brought a friend. I reviewed the menu briefly and said to myself, “Why mess with perfection?!?” Ordered the jerked shrimp nachos again and had to try a drink in the pineapple. No mistakes there. This is a favorite and if I ever find myself in PCB, I will not hesitate to return here. Great service. Quick delivery. Highly suggest going at “off” times to beat the crowds and enjoy the best seats in the house. 2 weeks earlier: Went at an “off” time of 3pm and was immediately seated. I was offered both indoor and outdoor seating. I’m in Florida at the beach in March, “Outside please”. While going at an off time got me seated immediately, it was still busy and I had to wait a minute for the waiter but he did make himself known, I think his name was Tevin. He was great. I asked him for his top three choices and he provided his answer of shrimp tacos, nachos, and lastly the mahi mahi sandwich (which they were out of), so he added the grouper sandwich as another option. I then made my choice and got the nachos with shrimp and per his recommendation I got the shrimped “jerked”, a little spicy he warned and they were perfectly spicy, not too much, but not too little. I debated getting a drink in a pineapple but didn’t make that splurge, but enjoyed seeing everyone enjoy theirs. Here at this restaurant, there is a walk up window just for the drink in a pineapple option. It costs the price of the specific drink plus $7 to have it offered in a pineapple. I’m headed back down to Florida next week and I’m sure I’ll be heading back here and maybe this time I’ll splurge and show you my experience with a pineapple drink. As an original California girl, this place fed my soul as well as my belly. It’s not cheap, but I also don’t think it’s overpriced. I highly recommend going if...
Read moreServer was great and prompt. Unsweet tea was strong and really good Had the seafood platter and gumbo Gumbo was very good. Not the best I've had but still very good. A bit too much rice in it IMO but still had great flavor and enjoyed it.
The seafood platter was amazing and one of the best I've had. Shared it with my wife and the portions were huge which made very affordable for the price. I don't care for fried oysters however I thought the ones from here were delicious. The fried shrimp was in my top three all-time favorites. The fried fish was delicious and also one of my favorites. I normally can't eat much of the fish on these types of platters but, this one, I cleaned up with pleasure. Breading was just right and fish was cooked perfectly. I am also not a fan of crab cakes much however I thoroughly enjoyed the one we had here and it was chock full of crab. The hush puppies were very good and not overcooked like many places do but nothing to write home about. We had their onion pedals which were good but average and nothing special. The jalepeno ranch was incredible and complimented the onion pedals really well! Lastly, the cocktail and tarter sauces were really good. I do not like tarter sauces however this place has some really good tarter sauce that went really well with the fried fish.
Went on a friday night at 530 and were seated immediately. Ambiance is laid back and very chill of course and we had a front row view of the beach and pier.
I'm already looking forward to coming back to this place! This will be our go-to spot...
