This place has been a yearly tradition, but never again after yesterday, 10/7 between 1 and 1:30 pm. My daughter did the Pepper Palace challenge, which she’s been fine with every year, but this year the challenge was 7x hotter than a Carolina Reaper. It was 14,000,000 Scoville, which they didn’t tell us until afterward, and they had no relief to offer so we ran to the closest place with dairy. She was literally in the floor crying when we came into this store waiting on ice cream for any kind of relief and the employees acted like they were high or something because they completely ignored us and nothing that happened in their surroundings made them move any faster. I didn’t want to start yelling so I just tried to get the attention of the employees. They just kept serving the single other customer in the store slowly and normally and avoided asking what was happening with the girl suffering and bent over on the ground crying in the floor. They saw her and just acted like nothing at all was happening. They saw me and ignored me asking for someone to help. I had to wait my turn in line after all. I was completely ignored by an employee who, after I asked for help, proceeded to slowly wash her hands and slowly walk over to help, seeming annoyed that I wanted to order. My daughter is obviously suffering at this time. I said I don’t want to be rude but can you please get her order quickly, she’s suffering. The girl sighed and rolled her eyes and slowly got the ice cream. Maybe you do get customers from the same situation all the time, but the heartless lazy employees you’ve chosen to represent your business cost you ever having our business again. We went to Dicks Last Resort after and were told they get the same situation all the time, but they were super helpful and sympathetic. The workers were extremely sweet and helpful there. They wouldn’t even take our money after helping because they just felt bad for her. They hire actual humans. We skipped getting the rest of the family ice cream at Kilwins because of how heartless the staff were. Like drones high on something. I’ve never experienced humans that were so calloused. We’ll...
Read moreIcecream was expensive and service was terrible. Attendant looked like she wanted to hit you for just being there, and was incredibly rude and impatient. Payed around $17 dollars for two small ice creams and some (2) truffles. The icecream was very good, although it melted quickly and servings are giant, I recommend ordering a small which is unfortunate because you can only get one flavour, scoops are so huge… I would like to have smaller scoops and try a variety of options over just the one. Love the waffle bowl option, and the diverse flavours;I’m not sure if sampling is allowed here (attendant seemed to sour I didn’t bother asking). Location is good, you can watch the beach and there are plenty of other places to see and wander around as you eat! Also, Kilwins isn’t just for icecream, the have a gargantuan selection of fudges, chocolate covered pretzel rods, candied apples and popcorn, coated marshmallows, and more! Overall takeaway is great variety, good icecream, huge serving sizes, horrible service and...
Read moreMy fiance and I came in to get a little sweet snack on this quiet holiday afternoon, but we ended up walking out without anything because we were ignored. There were two girls behind the counter, one serving ice cream, and one at the chocolate counter. The girl at the chocolate counter stood directly in front of us and didn't say a word, no "HI", no "we'll be right with you" nothing. She looked me in the eyes, closed the counter window, then looked away. The young woman standing next to me stepped up and asked about a job, to which the girl told her "we aren't hiring" (is that legal?) so the woman questions her because the ice cream counter girl said they were hiring, but if not could she get a business card, to which the girl walks off, returns with a card, forcefully puts it on the counter in front of the girl, without looking at her, and walks away to the back. All of this within a couple feet of us, we figured she wasn't serving anymore today, so we left. Thanks for a great...
