Short Story This is not a speak easy Atmosphere was confusing 70s music with pictures of 1920/30s on tvs Glassware was a combination of plastic and Target/Dollar store glasses Service staff not even close to representing era Narrative This bar/lounge is not what it claims to be. My wife and I were excited about the show we got tickets for. Turns out what you’re paying for is an upgraded seat with 4 drinks tickets. The waitress shared that our drink tickets were worth $18. We said they were worth $20 each. She replied with $18. We showed our printed copy of the tickets and there it was, $20 each drink ticket. She said she had to confer with her manager. After a quick huddle, she concurred. Again, we had the receipts.
When we asked about the music being played, we were told that they match the music to the energy of the vibe. The bar is sold as a speak easy - music should represent.
The show. The piano player played “Margaritaville”, and various other 70s hits. He was obnoxiously crass. Saying “Jesus Christ” on numerous occasions coercing a table to buy him a drink. Foul language is fine, but not in that setting. With at least 4 very thunderous slaps to the piano and screaming into the microphone, it was assaulting to the senses. Then the “burlesque” show….
It was NOT a burlesque show. It was a woman dressed in a black velvet ice skating dress with a hand feather fan. Barely dancing and making it a point to touch the gentlemen seated. Was awkward.
If you show/promote cigars, you would expect there to be cigars. There were not. But they did sell hanging maple bacon.
Just a bizarre, unaligned concept. Not worth the price of a plastic...
Read moreI was excited to check this spot out while in Vegas. The atmosphere was chill and the young lady serving me was efficient. What made me mark my experience down was how I was approached about paying. I understand if I walk up to the bar and buy my drink that I pay when I receive my drink. But, usually, when sitting and relaxing and enjoying drinks, you are able to do so then pay once you’re done. Not here. My order was taken and I was brought my drink. There was no mention ever of there payment policy. As I’m sitting and enjoying my drink, the server walks up and says “Do you want to pay for your drink now or open a tab?” (Simple question). I tell her that I don’t like leaving my card at the counter but I do plan to have another drink. She then tells me that I need to pay for my drink or open a tab because they don’t want people to run off without paying. This is a huge turn off for me. I don’t know how many people come in here and do this but, I give off no impression of trying to drink and ditch. It would have been different for me if payment was requested when my drink was brought to me but, it wasn’t. So, it just seemed weird and suggested that I should find a different spot to chill and enjoy my relaxing evening. None-the-less, I feel it’s worth the visit. I’m giving this review as I finish my drink and, instead of trying anymore of their custom old fashioned drinks as I planned, I will just check out a different spot. The bar at Four Seasons never disappoints and they don’t have a phobia that they won’t get paid to the point that they make there guests feel uncomfortable and unappreciated. That’s probably more my...
Read moreI had the pleasure of visiting this local speakeasy that featured an incredibly talented piano singer, Troy, and I can’t stop raving about the experience!
As soon as I entered the dimly lit venue, I was transported back in time. The ambiance was perfect, with vintage decor and a cozy atmosphere that set the stage for an unforgettable night. The piano singer, Troy, took the stage with an air of confidence and charisma that immediately captured everyone’s attention.
Troy’s voice was nothing short of mesmerizing. He effortlessly transitioned between genres and showcased his effortless talent. Each song was performed with such emotion and authenticity that you could feel the connection he had with the music. The piano accompaniment was equally impressive, with rich chords and intricate melodies.
The highlight of the evening was a stunning performance by Savory Avery. Mesmerized dancing by her created a magical moment that perfectly encapsulated the spirit of the speakeasy.
Overall, if you ever have the chance to see Troy and Ms. Avery perform, don’t miss it! Their talent, charm, and the unique atmosphere of the speakeasy make for an incredible night out. I left feeling uplifted and inspired, and I can’t wait to return for another dose.
Troy is there every Friday...
