Horrible experience. Came here twice while at a convention as it was recommended to me. I guess everyone has different taste. Came here for both dinner and breakfast. The service for dinner was super slow. I ordered the steak with fries as an entree and the ceviche as an appetizer. The heavyset server with a goatee (dont know his name) brings my dinner and appetizer together. I never seen that before. Appetizers should always come out before the main course (This is common sense) I literally didnt enjoy my meal due to rushing to eat so my steak dosen’t get cold. The steak was good tasting but the ceviche is not really “ceviche” its salsa with 6-7 pieces of diced shrimp. In addition, ceviche is made with a lemon juice base not tomato sauce. Also, Ceviche is mixed seafood not only shirimp. Should of been called shirimp salsa or something. To make things worse they add a surcharge for service due to covid. Were in 2024. Covid was in the past… I always tip 20-25%. Never seen that in any other restaurant in Vegas. Not only are the prices super high for the low quality of food but to add a staff surcharge is unacceptable. The breakfast is the same way, i wanted to give it a second try. It took 3 people to heat my bagel and give it to me close to 15 minutes. To top it off, i paid $32$ for a coffee and Bagel with lox and the lox comes in a container with all the ingredients inside. Your responsible to put your toppings inside your bagel like a cafeteria….(I’ve never seen that before in my life) charging an arm and leg to make your own bagel which should take minutes to make! Better off going to Dunkin, you receive way better service at a fraction...
Read moreThis was our first time intentionally coming to Vegas. Usually we avoid it. However, we are celebrating our 34th anniversary with good tix to Cirque de Soleil, so we are here to enjoy good food and time together.
We walked quite a way to this restaurant because of the chicken and waffles on the menu, but didn't notice that was only on the breakfast menu. So that was a little disappointing, but that's okay, we're flexible. So we stayed and got "patio" seating (you're not really outdoors—it's like sitting in a faux outdoor area inside a mall. But we're in Vegas, so it is what it is.
I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It was fantastic, and I could easily order it again. The fries were perfect...just the right amount of crispiness.
My wife ordered the caprese salad. She also enjoyed it a lot. The reduced balsamic dressing was excellent. She is not always a fan of balsamic, but like this dressing. The toasted baguette slices were really good with the dressed mozzarella and tomato. The only negative on the salad (which was good enough that I'll make it at home occasionally) is that the tomato slices were large quartered tomatoes, too big to eat in a bite. And they were a little on the green side for a salad like this. There were smaller cherry tomatoes in the salad and those were perfect; sweet, ripe, and bite sized. But maybe they couldn't source enough of them to build the salad visually around cherry tomatoes. I felt like they were there largely to give the appearance of a larger plate of food. Nevertheless, a...
Read moreWe came here on our first day at Mandalay Bay and were thoroughly disappointed. I ordered the steak frites and the steak was very chewy and barely seasoned. The fries seemed like they were basic frozen fries they threw in the fryer. My partner got the Cali burger and the patty was very thin and was charbroiled so much is was burnt. He also ordered truffle fries and they were the same as the rosemary garlic fries with maybe a small hint of truffle but it was hard to tell the difference. That isn't even the worst part. I paid with InKind as I had $30 off $100. Since I used InKind I had to write down the tip and total on the receipt. I left a small tip on InKind but I was going leave more cash tip but when our server, Alex, saw the receipt his mood immediately changed. He started ignoring anything I was saying and then when he brought the receipt he threw it at my partner. My partner and I have both worked in the restaurant industry so we understand how upsetting it can be when you get a low tip, however neither one of us would have acted that way. It was incredibly childish and unprofessional. Right after Alex walked away I heard him and saw him talking about us to his coworker complaining about us. All of the things Alex did made us rethink leaving more tip so we didn't. We will never be coming back to the Citizen, it was probably the worst experience we have had in Vegas and we have been coming to...
