I came to F1 Arcade on Sunday afternoon of opening weekend. We had a reservation and arrived 15 min before the time as requested by the e-mail I received. After navigating the maze that is the Forum Shops we arrived and were notified to head upstairs to the reception.
We checked in and were led to a 3 simulator pod with two seats occupied. We were told that once our reservation time arrived this group that was using the simulators would leave and then our group would have the two on the left. The hostess then gave us a brief demonstration of the race sim and then we sat at the table behind them until it was our time.
When our time arrived a QR code appeared on the screen and we attempted to check in to the simulator. You have three minutes to do this and then your experience starts. We were unable to do this due to technical issues - both my wife and I received an error message. We flagged one of the techs down to get logged in. He additionally had issues getting us on the simulators and suggested it was my phone with the problem as his had no problems.
Eventually we got in halfway through the race.
The races are certainly fun and depending on how you set the difficulty can be very difficult due to the characteristics of driving an F1 car.
Of note there is limited time between races, I think around a min or two so there’s not much time to get a drink or anything.
I enjoyed my experience despite the technical issues. My wife really didn’t as she found the driving too difficult even at the easiest settings. I will add knowing the tracks is a huge advantage here.
Some notes and improvements I would make - You don’t pick your race track, nor your car. I didn’t get to race on the Las Vegas Circuit which I found to be quite odd. The app you have to sign up on really doesn’t have anything useful on it - I can’t see my race history or best lap times etc. There is no cleaning...
Read moreSoooo much fun!! We started the night at the upstairs bar - they had a DJ going and the atmosphere was very upbeat lively - lots of people laughing, playing, having a good time. We tried out several of the specialty cocktails - amazing flavors and the presentations were fun and polished. Gotta say - I loved all the staff's outfits from the splashy sequins jackets to the bar staff's I want to say leather-ish aprons? Either way - very cool lol.
We chose the team version between the 5 of us. I had never played a racing sim and was a little nervous - but there are several different difficulty levels and the super helpful staff explained all the tips and tricks and we were crushing in no time! There were a ton of races so our whole party all got plenty of playing time between the two machines we used. When sitting out we munched on some snacks - the wagyu beef sliders and guacamole were both outstanding.
I mean, we were all grinning ear to ear when leaving our first F1 experience. What a fantastic night - would definitely...
Read moreWatched the Mexico race there. Love being around so many F1 fans.
We paid $155pp for the Grandstand package which included unlimited food (buffet) and drinks (only beer and wine which was disappointing…you’d think you would get at least well drinks). It also included unlimited gaming but it ended right after the race so you have to use it during the race which also subtracted from the package value.
We were in the big Briefing Room. Quieter but the sound system isn’t as good and it was difficult to hear the broadcast. And, the TVs are not that large and should be much bigger. More TVs and better audio in the main room.
Staff was super friendly and you could tell they had just opened. Kinks to work out.
Despite this initial challenges, it’s the BEST place to watch an F1 race! Make sure you go to the big facility on the 3rd floor, not...
