I was at a Tech Conference in Vegas last week, and my team met to have a team dinner together and we reserved a large table at Matteo’s Ristorante Italians which is located inside the Venetian Resort in Vegas. The staff was very attentive to our needs and to make sure that we were well taken care of. They were opening wine bottle after wine bottle making sure our glasses were kept full. I believe that we had at lease two servers and one manager working our table. We had several options to select from in a four course meal. We were able to select the main entree however the appetizers, salads, and dessert were already decided for us. We had options of steak, pork, salmon, and chicken for our entrees. The salads looked amazing however one of the salads came out with nuts which my team stepped up to make sure that I stayed away from. However, the salad that I was able to try was good, see picture. The gnocchi with duck appetizer was very good and I so wish that I could have tried the Gnocchi with lamb which they had on the menu. I ordered the steak medium rare which was Ok, but it was more like warm than warm/hot which made it more rare than medium rare. I would recommend to make sure that you get it to your liking. I have pictures of the steak, pork and salmon as these were entrees ordered around me. I had wished that I had ordered the pork. To me, it looked better. The feedback that I heard about the chicken was not as positive as what I heard about the pork and salmon. The dessert was stuffed cannoli. I was hesitant to try it as it looked authentic with mascarpone which is nut based. I heard that it was pretty good. My favorite part of the dinner was actually the wine. It was a creamy, smooth wine with superb taste. I took a picture of it to make sure that I could find it again later. This is a high end Italian Restaurant which I had hoped to get some more items like meatballs. However, it was definitely worth the Experis with my team to enjoy a nice...
Read moreDuring my trip to Vegas my family and i came here to eat! I have to say this is one of the best Italian restaurants i have ever eaten at. I ordered a delicious pasta dish the piemontesi! The flavor of the sauce was immaculate, Perfectly balanced! The brazed short rib inside was flavorful, tender and delicious! Impeccable by design and absolutely left nothing to be desired except a second portion! The pasta was made fresh to order. The herb tossed potatoes were incredible and perfectly cooked. The herbal flavors resonated throughout the baby potatoes absolutely delicious. Ordered two desserts and let me tell you neither one disappointed! The one of the left (my favorite of the two) fruits were fresh, delicious and juicy! The gelatin was perfectly consistent and the flavors complemented the yogurt at the bottom and the shortbread cookies went perfect when smashed and mixed in. The second dessert was delicious and did not have too overwhelming of a coffee flavor which i loved since i do not like coffee and the dark chocolate ring around it was not too bitter which was also a plus. This place was so fabulous we came twice in five days and the consistency of the restaurant made the experience a great one each time! Only small negative was the potatoes sadly were not seasoned as generously the second time around but still delicious just more potato flavor than usual. Highly recommend to eat here if you are...
Read moreOn 8 Feb 2023 I was there with my girlfriend on a business dinner with 20 people group. We needed to leave for a booked show after an hour, so we didn't expect to stay for the whole course, but maybe eat some appetizers and first course before we had to leave. So when 20 minutes after after we were seated a waiter first arrived to take drinks orders, we asked the waiter if we could at least be served the appetizer and the first course before I have to leave, and pointed to our selection. The waiter acknowledged that and told that this should not be a problem. However, the waiter did not show up again for more than half an hour, until it was 55 minutes after we were seated. Only then to even take the course selections from everyone. The restaurant was not busy, but the waiter serving us just disappeared in the meantime. Only then, 55 minutes in and more than half an hour after ordering were the ordered drinks served; no appetizers or even bread, nothing except water was served on the table for the 20 people group sitting there for almost an hour until then. At that point we had to leave for our show, and grab a to-go pizza slice from a nearby food court as our dinner. As I found later from the business receipt fir that company dinner, we were still charged for the full 4-course dinner menu.
I don't often review places, but I have never ever met with worse service than in...
