I'd been holding onto a P365 coupon for months, thinking, "eh, how good can it be, a pub in a casino?" It can be great, perfect, that's how good it can be.
Anyway, I already knew the beer selection would be above par due to their extensive menu and because their barman works in and knows the local craft scene. You can join their beer club and win fun prizes in addition to delightful inebriation. But to be serious for a moment, having a bar with an ability to pair a beer with the select foods they offer, that's a blessing in this town that is still slow to embrace the diversity of the craft scene. P365 nails it, though.
NEXT, my dining companion and I ordered two entreés: the steak and the seared ahi tuna. I'll mention again how low my expectations were, as these are sort of run-of-the-mill pub dishes. When they brought to our table, however, we knew we were in for something special. The plating alone was a sight to behold and made for easy photographs. Jenn's steak was rare as she requested and seasoned just enough to highlight that hunkahunka meat. A filling slab and right on price point.
My seared ahi? I lived in Hawaii for several months and have had my fair share of seared ahi elsewhere. P365's will go down as one of the few memorables. It was perfect, seasoning exquisite, and not a hint of over-heating in the middle. Delish. And that accompanying chopped spinach couscous salad? I raved! Jenn laughed, "you're thrilled by the salad?? Must be fantastic." It was. The perfect compliment.
We were so impressed, we went the glutton route and ordered a side of the braised beef mac&cheese as part of our Vegas mac&cheese exploratory tour. Another impressive execution, with a full, creamy base, tender flavorful beef, the right noodle choice for the job, and a visually-appealing overflowing cast iron dish. Later we asked what accounted for the experience had; our waiter gave a knowing smile and just said, "we have a new chef, and he's made some appreciable changes." No kidding, sir. The man responsible? Chef Juan Vazquez. I hope to shake hands next time I'm through.
We rounded out the evening with one more splurge. Jenn wanted the s'mores, and I rolled my eyes. How boring! How wrong I was. Another pleasant visual, this is enough for 2-4 people. Don't go it alone! This isn't your campfire s'mores, either--its base is a smokey pastry shell, quality melted chocolate, medium toasted marsh', and a whipped lite topping. It's surprisingly light for what it is, so you won't cramp. I love being wrong sometimes.
To conclude, our evening started out as 3-stars when we walked in, due to an absent and then fumbling hostess who told us to wait though we were at the front of the line. She prioritized some folks behind us who, she claimed, had been there earlier and had come back. Mmm, no, not with this many tables open. Or at least figure a more respectable way to manage that after we'd been standing there with no one greeting us for several minutes already. The volume can get rather deafening, too, as they pipe some loud tunes--all good selections!--but conversations at all surrounding tables elevated to near shouting. These are minor flaws, though.
So, a healthy 4-stars. I'll be back and definitely...
Read moreAs a local, I do frequent Tuscany a lot. This was my 2nd visit to Pub 365 and once again, both the service and food missed the mark. Our 1st time was for burgers and whether it was spoiled meat or just a bad batch of overseasoned meat, it was inedible. Today, I ordered the surf and turf after being told how good it was. I always order my steak rare and this was served well done. As I didn't have time for a refire of the meal, I ate it, but pointed out that the dish wasnt prepared properly to the server and another team member. Other than agreeing with me that the meal was not prepared properly, while they did offer to recook it, there wasn't a sincere apology. Using a voucher, it was interesting to note that the server was more concerned with my ID and players card as she said it's "doing her job" but never came by and provided drink refills or even asking how everything was. I had to ask and by that time, I was finished eating I'm one to tip more on meals I don't pay for since I've worked in the hospitality business for 30 plus years and know just how hard most people work but there was nothing about the experience to want to give more. I tipped more yesterday on a take out meal that was almost half the price than on this one. The restaurant wasn't busy and yet, there was no real substance to the service and it was very transactional and forced. She didn't impress me that she truly enjoyed her job, cared about my experience, or wanted to make the best of it. She did remove the soda from the bill, but again, it was a comped meal so it felt like a meaningless gesture. She could have offered something to go, a dessert, something that said, we value your business and apologize for missing the mark today.
Pub 365 is 0 for 2 in both food and service I've eaten at Marilyn's, Bistecca, and the coffee shop and the service is far superior in all three venues than it was here.
On a side note, Pub 365 does have an interesting program. Based on the number of beers you drink, you get rewarded at certain milestones. A single beer gets you 10 percent off an entree. A 50th beer gets you a unicorn tee valued at $50 A 99th beer gets you a party for 10, free food item and a tap handle. Your 365th beer gets you a Vegas Golden Knights experience, one night hotel, transfers to the arena and a food and beverage credit. Sounds like a fun thing to do if you enjoy trying different beers.
Atmosphere is lively, good music, sporting events on the TVs, game nights (trivia) could make this a much better venue if the food and...
Read moreFind my new home-away-from-home when I'm in Las Vegas. Everything about this place was aces, starting with the beer list which first caught my attention. Over 50 beers on tap with some hard to find barrel aged stand outs, a fantastic local selection, and a nice group of less mainstream beers including sours. And that doesn't even touch the bottle and can list, let alone the unicorns... Oh, the unicorns. Having been pulled in by the beer list, I decided to make the hike from the Venetian. It's walkable, but it's a bit of a trek, so if you're not familiar with off-strip Vegas walks, consider grabbing a rideshare or taxi - seemed to be around $10-$12 outside prime times. The Pub is inside the Tuscany hotel and casino. What a gorgeous oasis! Big kudos to the groundskeepers and staff at Tuscany, they do a stellar job. I will be looking at Tuscany for my future Vegas hotel stays as well. Friendly staff, clean, just a nice welcoming place. Great beer list, great area. Now service. No matter how great the product or the place, staff can make or break the experience at even the finest of places. Well, in this case - experience made! Jose was my bartender. You know those bartenders you just meet and they make you feel like you've been a regular for ten years? He (AND the rest of the service and wait staff, excluding none) delivered that experience, and it wasn't just tip hunting. Great people who delivered a great experience. Finally, just have to say a word or two about the environment. Great combination of local bar/taproom and YEAH BUDDY 🤟 TouchTunes jukebox consistently had great tunes going with a great vibe, nice combination of locals and out of towners keep the conversation interesting. Not too crowded, but far from empty. And great food too! This place is an all around gem. As Kenny Rogers says in The Gambler, I found an ace...
